Found Mother’s Day gifts for my husband for Mother’s Day

Anonymous
I went into my husbands office and found a bunch of Mother’s Day crafts and cards handmade by our 2 and 4 year old that said “Happy Mother’s Day Dad! I love you” in her handwriting and the kids drew on it hung on the wall. I’m pretty annoyed.. I certainly didn’t get anything from my kids from MIL, nor would I expect it, but that’s a little bizarre to organize the kids making crafts for my husband. Not only that but my husband didn’t get my MiL a thing for the holiday, it was all me with the gifts and reservations. I made the whole day about her booking her favorite restaurant and taking her out of town. Lesson learned. Stop doing anything for her.

Um, what?

Are you drunk? It said happy Mother’s Day dad?

Wait. So your MIL made cards with your kids that said “happy Mother’s Day, dad” and we’re given to your DH for Mother’s Day?

If so, that’s pretty ridiculous. Do you and MIL get along?

OP, is this what you meant? That MIL made Mother’s Day cards with your kids for DH?

Yes my kids don’t write yet. My mother in law wrote it out. They drew silly pictures and she showed my 4 year old how to spell dad and a heart inside but the front of 3 crafts say Happy Mother’s Day Dad in her handwriting.

Yes

You need to deal with that bs ASAP.

So what? Why does this matter?

Oh, OP, your mother in law is awful. But this is actually hilarious…and what did your DH say about it?!

Grey rock. Your life will be so much better for it.

Wow that is some aggressively rude MIL behavior. Did you mention it to your husband? Please tell me he also thinks it is ridiculous. I leave my MIL for my DH to manage so he would have said something to her. If it were me, I’d be inwardly angry at my MIL, though.

I don’t think it does, especially if MIL and op do not get along already, but it’s obviously rude.

Right? Wow! My husband would never let my MIL get away with this. Unless you otherwise have a great relationship with MIL and this was just a really odd misstep, that’s some serious shade she is throwing your way.

Is she senile?
