How do you dispose of your used tampon applicators? Flush or trash?
I've been flushing for years now, and I use plastic applicators. I flush the wrapper too.. My friend said I should stop but it's just so much easier
|
| Trash. Every plumber will tell you NOT to flush. |
|
TRASH.
I cannot believe this is a real question. |
|
Switch to OB and you won’t have this dilemma.
Better still—a cup. I can’t believe there is a human flushing applicators and wrappers into the sanitary sewer system. What do you think happens to them after you put them in there? |
| Wow. You flush the plastic applicator??! Do you do this in the home you own? Because you’ll have a big plumbing bill eventually. |
|
WOW.
It goes in the trash. Where do you live and how do you not know this? |
|
How do you not know this?
Let me guess... at home, you put them in the trash. Everywhere else, eh who cares, throw them in the toilet. |
| So OP’s the one who ignores the signs in the public restrooms asking people not to flush feminine hygiene products. |
Probably also the one who sprinkles all over the seat and leaves it. |
|
I actually flushed tampons themselves for several years because I genuinely didn’t realize you weren’t supposed to flush them for some reason.
But flushing plastic applicators and wrappers?? That’s straight up flushing garbage. And how is it easier?? The trash is right there! |
You are disgusting. Why would you flush a plastic tampon applicator, knowing it is going to end up in the outside environment? There is something especially obscene about seeing plastic tampon applicators on beaches. This is the height of entitled selfishness and in the distant future, long after plastic tampon applicators have been banned, people who will still be finding the remains of these will marvel at our arrogance. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/nova-scotia/plastic-tampon-applicators-1.4914538 |
| I can’t believe people even buy tampons with plastic applicators, much less flush them. |
I always wondered why they had those signs. I thought, isn't it obvious not to flush trash down the toilet? I guess not. If OP is stupid enough to think that's okay and she can still type a message on DCUM then I guess there are people even dumber than her out there and who the hell knows what they're doing. |
+1 |
I don't think OP is stupid. I think she is breathtakingly selfish, knows she shouldn't flush plastic applicators, but has done it for years anyway because, as she said, it is "so much easier." She had simply assumed that most other people are as selfish as she is. When she posted to tell us her friend had told her she should stop flushing tampon applicators and wrappers, she was expecting to a resounding collective reassurance from us that we also flush them. She was never asking if it is OK to flush them; she just wanted reassurance that everybody else does what she chooses to do. |
