Favorite restaurants for out-of-town guests?

We have some world travelers coming to visit us for a few days. Wondering where to take them to perhaps wow them and show them a bit of DC. What are your favorite restaurants/spots that you take out-of-town visitors to?

TIA!

Recently took a friend (who's a professional foodie) to Montmartre in Eastern Market, and she loved it. Raved and raved. (This was lunch-- dinner a year ago did not impress me.)

Out-of-towners really seem to love Zaytinya for dinner, as bored as we are by it now!

And if you're not averse to the tourist scene, Old Ebbit Grill.

If you don't mind showing them the suburbs 2941 in Falls Church is a favorite of mine, and my dad loooooved the view! He's very picky with restaurants.

What about Ben's Chili Bowl? Also if their Food Network fans - you could go to Good Stuff Eatery in DC or trek out to Frederick to Volt. Citronelle and Central are wonderful. If you're going to Old Town, then Restaurant Eve. For very upscale - Cityzen. 1789 is good for tourists seeking that Old DC feel. And I personally like Rasika for Indian, but everyone's got their favorite.

Restaurant Nora in Dupont for upscale local/organic
Cork on U Street to showcase innovative wine selections
Ethiopian in Adams Morgan just because good Ethiopian is hard to find anywhere and fun to eat with a crowd.

Jaleo.

I like Zaytinya too - its not too expensive, the space is pretty, we can sit outside if its nice out, and they get to see Mike Isabella from Top Chef. We also sometimes go to Jaleo, or to Chef Geoff's for regular food.

My husband and I always laugh because EVERY time we see a travel/food show that is about DC, we know whoever the host is, will be going to Ben's Chili Bowl at some point. I know it is a DC institution, but I feel like we have so many good restaurants in the area now...it is time to move on!

I would say someplace with a view -- Sequoia or Perry's.

Cafe Atlantico @ 8th & E has a really good fixed price tasting brunch on Sundays for $35/person. It's about 11 bite-sized courses of what can best be described as Latin-inspired dim sum. It is an excellent way to kick off an afternoon of Smithsonian sight-seeing.

Tabard Inn has a lovely courtyard atmosphere. Rasika is great Indian (also well located to museums). One of the best restaurants in DC is Komi's--but it is pricey and hard to get a reservation for.

Ethiopian is fun for adventurous guests who have never had it. Try Dukem or Etete in the U Street area.
We recently had an excellent dinner at Majestic Cafe in Old Town.

I love Ben's, but it's a landmark because of its background and story and atmosphere as much as (or more than) the food.
