| 36 weeks pregnant and it's on my to-do list to make and freeze a few meals. Would love some good ideas if you had any favorites! |
| Honestly? Stuff you buy (Trader Joes has a million favorites). I can't cook things myself that come out of the freezer as well as the pros can. |
Lol if your cooking is as good as a Trader Joe’s frozen meal then your cooking must suck. OP I like a summery chicken and bean stew. It freezes well. Sautee 2 chopped onions with chopped tomatoes (approx 5 large tomatoes). Add whatever chopped vegetables you have (1 used one zucchini and 4 celery sticks recently). Meanwhile boil 2 lb chicken pieces until there is white foam. Remove white foam. Add a bay leaf, 2 tsp salt, pepper and whatever herbs you have. Add onion vegetable mixture, 3 cups of soaked great northern or camellia beans (soak overnight). Reduce heat to medium low and cook for an hour. Shred chicken if you wish and save in ziplock freezer bags. |
| Placenta pie. Tastes like a cross between kidney pie and fish in the sea pie |

| The only thing I liked reheated from frozen was soup. I had matzoh ball soup almost daily. My husband cooked or we ordered in. |
New Poster. Your comment is rude. And for the record, Trader Joe's frozen meals aren't bad. |

Soups are good, gumbo is great, though going into summer I don't know that these would be very appetizing.
I froze baked ziti with a ton of roasted veggies in it, which was yummy though keep in mind if you breastfeed many babies will be sensitive to dairy (yours may not, but you won't know till they're here). Also veggie burritos with rice and beans and cheese, baked or air fried and then frozen, just pop them in the oven to warm up when you're ready to eat. It's also helpful to freeze things like muffins for snacks/breakfasts that you can defrost individually. |
| I would focus on drinks and healthy snacks. Also its going to be hot soon - reheating an enchilada or whatever is not that appealing when you're tired and it's hot. |
| You could bake muffins & freeze for quick, easy breakfasts |

Minestrone. This one is delicious
https://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/1845-tuscan-farro-soup?smid=ck-recipe-iOS-share But honestly I am a great cook and I froze some meals for my first but didn’t for my second. I don’t really enjoy eating food from the freezer more than just throwing something together. And you may not be able to easily eat any sit down meal. |
| I never understood the craze on this. The time it takes to thaw and the fact that it doesn’t taste the time, doesn’t make it worth it. You can cook after giving birth you know |

Lasagna is a great one because it's often better after letting the flavors meld a bit. Definitely not one to eat the night you make it
I made a ton of greek spanikopita. Phyllo crisps righr back up after being frozen. It's a great idea to have a few favorite dishes ready on a day you only have the bandwidth to re-heat something |
Same I find the concept gross lol like hoarding food that won’t taste fresh and do all that cooking and work ahead. If I was hungry and I didn’t have food I had bread olive oil Parmesan and crushed garlic or tomatoes, voila appetizer done! But you’ll just order fresh yummy food or have someone cook and eat it fresh. I wouldn’t do any frozen meals myself. I’m with the Trader Joe’s poster but for me it’s Whole Foods because it’s close by ex; some frozen lasagna and veggie risotto. |
Freezer food (even when packaged up properly) always tastes off to me. We live off of crockpot meals in the early days. |
