Team manager question

We are playing in a tournament this weekend, and only have 10 players coming for a 9 a side game. I reached out to the coach to ask if I should ask the team below for guest players, and he said we can't, because they are already playing in another tourament that same weekend. Being that it is Memorial Day, and most teams are in other tournaments or the same one as us, where are we supposed to get guest players at this point? I asked the coach this, more nicely, but he has not responded. What do people do in these circumstances?

With older kids they sort this out for themselves by asking friends whe necessary.

OP here. My daughter has friends that play rec, but they wouldn't have player cards.

Well, you have one sub. There are worse situations!

Actually, its likely too late to get carded guest players anyhow as they need to be registered to the team days ahead of tournaments in most cases.

Thank you, that is good info. Unfortunately, the teammates who cannot make it encountered circumstances outside their control, so it is really not their fault, just unfortunate.

At least (if it's local) the weather won't be unbearably hot, which may make it easier for the 10 players to tolerate the extra playing time.

I feel you, we've played games with no subs before. Maybe let the ref know you don't have any subs and have a water break in each half.

Also, I've see before the opposite team lending a player. Maybe bring an extra jersey?

Yeah I think for the Virginian the rosters have all been submitted

Honest question - is this the team manager's responsibility or the coach?

Our team has leant before no big deal, but it goes down as a forfeit

Depends on the club

Our 9v9 team has 14 players, we could certainly spare one or two for a higher level team's tourny.

We have borrowed players from younger age teams.

You can check the schedule to see which team is not in the tournament then invite their players.

Actually there are lots of players looking forward to play some extra games. I have asked some opportunities for my u12 son but no luck so far.

OP said that their club is all in tournaments this weekend. That seems standard to me for Memorial Day

If its the Virginian tournament the rules say you can only play for 1 team for the tournament no guest playing for a 2nd team within or outside for club.
