DCI announced that school will be in person five days a week next year. Any student who requests DL will have to present documentation of an OSSE-approved medical condition preventing him or her from attending school in person.
The email was clearly written, unequivocal and generally the opposite of the poorly drafted communications from the DCPS central office. Kudos to DCI and hopefully more schools follow suit. |
| Capital City just said something similar for lower and middle schools in a re-entry call. Not sure whether to believe it after the last year! |
|
That is great to hear!! |
| Stokes said the same last weekend in their Town Hall! |
| This is great news |
Awesome news. Great job DCI. - DCI feeder parent |
Yes, I was happy that this was so unequivocal. I appreciate not having to wonder what X, Y, Z might mean for the future. |
| Great to hear that DCI is leading the way for middle and high school! |
| That's good news. If a student has an OSSE-approved condition, who will provide the distance learning for that student? The same teachers that are teaching five days a week in the classroom? |
| Great news, after being among the last to bring kids back this spring. Better late than never, I guess. |
So did EL Haynes. |
Huh? Lots of schools have already announced this. |
Really who unequivocally has said this and not with an if such as “if cases continue to decrease”, “if OSSE recommendations are changed”, etc... Please list |
| And they brought back kids as fast as DC would allow. You have no idea how hard DCI fought to get kids back in the building. And yes, they led the way. J |
There were schools that had students in person WAY before DCI did. There was an article about them in the Washington Post at the beginning of the school year. |
