Bathing suit for 14 yo curvy DD?? We’ve had no luck finding a suit with coverage

Anonymous
The bikini tops she’s tried on (a bunch from Target, Kohl’s, Dick’s Sporting Goods) just haven’t fit her properly. I don’t *think* she’s a D cup (she usually wears Hanes pullover bras which come in S-M-L) but the Target bikini top with a built-in 34-C bra barely held her in, nor did the size mediums - but the size large were too baggy in the straps. She’s also curvy on the bottom in the sense that her hips are on the wider side, but she’s by no means overweight. All of the bikini bottoms she’s tried on seem to run so small. There were some one-pieces for fuller-figured women at Target but they seem a bit matronly for a young teen (though we might try them on next because we are getting desperate).

Any tips? I browsed Macy’s the other day and they barely had anything. Where should we try next?

Thanks!

Land's End!

I think part of the problem right now is that cheeky bottoms are in, so it is harder to find a full coverage bottom. I'd look at Nordstrom, athlete, and title 9. Boden might also be an option.

If she doesn't mind a plain bikini this might be an option. I have never gotten my curvy daughter to agree to a lands end suit even though I think some of them would be fine for a teen.

I buy separates from lands end for me. My DD doesn’t like them anymore so we buy her separates from Amazon.

can she get plain bottoms from Old Navy? This is what I bought for my 14 year old (sorry kid). I'm not into the cheeky look for my chid and they have a pair that has decent coverage.

I agree about lands end but you should definitely give your daughter a tape measure and tell her how to measure her bra size (and help if she wants.)

Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, South Moon Under

She needs a better structured bathing suit than Target. Target suits can be great but for curvey or larger breasts not as much.

Speedo, Athleta, Patagonia

Athleta has bra-sized swimsuits, and you can mix and match with bottoms of varying coverage. Their selection online is much better than the stores. They have free returns, so order a bunch and send back what doesn’t works.

Not for a teenager. For mom, yes.

Aerie has cute, full coverage suits. I like the mix and match styles and my teen really likes them.

I like Title 9 - and they have all kinds of tops that are true to cup size.

We bought from Speedo online and I was surprisingly happy with it.
