Alexandria Tryout offers

DS tried out for Alexandria U9 last week. How long does it usually take for invites to go out? New to this whole thing.

I heard they would be coming out this coming week.

They usually start after tryouts end and roll downhill - so the top team first and then the second team once they get decent numbers on that team and so on. At the younger age with 7 on 7 soccer there can be 4-6 teams so if this is your child’s first time playing travel, odds are you’ll be on a lower team and hear later (up to a week maybe??? I can’t remember?)

Thank you!

Alexandria, Arlington, and McLean parents make the same new thread everyday.

Looking at the rising U11 girls team. Daughter currently plays for a pretty good NCSL team but looking for a more serious environment to improve. I noticed that Alexandria is hosting tryouts most later than other clubs, which I appreciate. If anyone has any feedback on this age group, I would appreciate it.

Alexandria 11's played NCSL this spring, so if you're looking for something besides NCSL, that's probably not where to go first. Try getting their coaches info off the NCSL website and checking in with him. With tryouts mostly over, might be beneficial to get in touch with a few coaches and ask about attending a practice in the next week. If you're looking in the Alexandria area, Gunston & LMVSC are around there, and depending on where in the area you live, either SYC or PWSI could be options as well.

Gunston's U11 girls are EDP, SYCs are EDP and CCL

I am looking for a 2011. She will be U11 in spring. Thinking SYC may be one of the only options to move to a higher level of play.

SYC is probably your only option in the immediate area
