| Just curious if anyone has gotten their invite to join Alexandria 2009 MLS Next. And if so, we’re you already an Alexandria club player? Thanks! |
Interested in knowing about older kids here. |
Yes and Yes. Yesterday |
| Thought they were only going to the U-15 age? |
Probably more invitations to come....MLS Next tryouts are specifically listed as continuing next week during Academy tryouts with MLS Next coaches in attendance: https://alexandria-soccer.org/programs/academy/academy-tryouts/ Also, MLS Next coach assignments released on their Facebook page today. |

No. They were awarded upper age groups too. |

No, all the from U13 to U19 |

It is nice to see all the information clearly stated on their website:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/e/2PACX-1vS0-zg0jxss_d3rlc6fs62AjBnBOzMOBAiEVlrsFzf_XGarFUkfhKXobLz4eecWIM4mP38NPmfFFChP/pub Not like SYC, zero information on MLS Next except for tryout dates on their website. |
So at least three more MLS Next tryout sessions by the look of it. |
Wish they’d be more specific about price. They seem to dance around that topic but not state specifically. Is it going to be $3k for this before travel and tournaments? Also, how many of the games are going to be in NJ/PA next year? |
Alexandria does not charge additional for tournaments and does not estimate travel costs. Less than 3000 means it will vary by age group. If you have the offer, you know, and if you don’t, you will find out when you get it. You can get an idea about the schedule by looking at this year’s mls next schedule for the mid Atlantic. It will obviously vary by age and could change depending on how they actually set the schedule this summer. I would assume one third of matches would be north of Baltimore. |
Imagine what a turnout they would have gotten at tryouts if they had done a good job on their website! |
What, is Donald Trump now running SYC? (“The turnout was uge. Totally and bigly uge. The largest crowd ever.”) I guess they had their best people on the tournament they are hosting. (Whoops. Guess not.). Or maybe working on pathbreaking mergers and alliances. (Okay, so that isn’t going so well.). Maybe a little more soccer and a little less social media. Take it from an Arlington parent - you need some adult supervision over there. (How many of our kids left for SYC MLS Next?) People are gonna start thinking the “s” in SYC stands for “sham”. |
The statement that Alexandria does not charge for additional tournaments is false. If your team is doing something beyond the allotted tournaments, you will pay more. I do find it silly that you only get the price after they give you an offer. Does this mean different kids pay different prices? The lack of transparency is concerning. |
"Charge additional for tournaments" and "Charge for additional tournaments" are two completely different statements and everyone here knows the difference. You all just like to argue for the sake of arguing. |
