How do you know the clothes were dirty?
Also, I have TONS of clothes. My closet is huge 16 x 8. It's full of clothes. Unfortunately, I use only 10% of my closest due to weight gain. Patsy was heavy too. So, maybe she did wear a few items over and over, I do.

It didn't sound like Patsy was the type to wear an outfit twice. She worried about things like having matching outfits with JonBenet and even bought JonBenet a doll for Christmas that had matching clothes.

Think about the pageants and all the focus on fashion. Patsy was not the type to just roll out of bed with a full face of makeup and the clothes from the night before. I'm just not seeing her of all people doing that.

But if she was so vain, why was she overweight? Why didn't she exercise?
What did you read that made you think she wasn't the type to wear an outfit twice?
She was leaving early for vacation, grabbing that outfit was easy. She wasn't going to see the people that saw her wear that outfit the day before.

She had undergone treatment for ovarian cancer in the years leading up to this. She put on some weight during the process. But she still kept to her normal makeup, hair, clothes. She was a former beauty queen herself who still was very much in the pageant world via JonBenet. She cared about impressions.

I have never, ever seen a cancer patient GAIN weight, FYI.

Actually it's fairly common for cancer treatment to cause weight gain. Depends on the type of cancer & the treatment, among other things

There were only patchesof snow on the ground the night/morning of the murder. This explains why there were no footprints.

How would Santa or an intruder know a blanket would be in the dryer? Apparently it was freshly removed and still had static cling and items from the dryer on it or in which Christmas box and bag the package of underwear (apparently hey were a gift Patsy bought for her niece and still had wrapped?) would be found?

He didn't know the blanket was in the dryer, he was just looking for things he needed after he decided to kill her there. Santa was obsessed with her but felt she was his angel so that is why he took the time to wrap her in a blanket. Also maybe he wanted to cover the body hoping she would not be found as quickly. He needed time to get back to his cabin. As fast as the underwear goes I don't think it was a Christmas gift. I think they had been in JB's room but not used because they were too big. I think either JB wet the bed and woke up and changed underwear herself or the killer came in and smelled the urine and that ruined his sick fantasy so he changed her.

I'm trying to keep an open mind here and these are very interesting points.

People watch one video or read one book about the case and then believe they are experts. I would love to find an objective retelling of the case, but I don't think that's possible. People who watch the Smit video are convinced an intruder did it. People who read Kolar's book are convinced the Ramseys did it.

Is anyone aware of any completely factual, nonbiased books/videos? I would love to be better informed.

Were they able to get back out of that window?

Burke has said that Patsy never even so much as spanked him and JonBenet. She would get upset with them sometimes but never in a physical way. He doesn't seem to think that his mom's involvement would make any sense at all.

How likely is it that a woman who never raised a hand to her children would clobber her beloved little girl on the head so hard that her child's skull fractured? And then this brutal cover up?

I always thought that Patsy seemed odd in her interviews at the time but if she was medicated that might be why she seemed odd to me.

I'm glad that Burke is speaking out.

I thought the TV show left so many questions unanswered, so here is a link that I liked:

Did anyone see the creepy John Mark Karr guy interviewed last night on ID? He's just so gross and creepy, maybe he really was involved with someone else as he says

I think the underwear was bought on a recent trip to New York at Bloomingdales for her cousin. But later at home JB had asked her mom if she could keep it. I can see Patsy saying sure and JB later wanting to be a "big girl" and putting them on herself. Maybe JB put them on that day. Most parents would not know what underwear their kids were wearing if the kids are dressing themselves. Underwear from Bloomingdales used to be kind of a big thing or trend.

OMG, as mental as they come! That whole show was informative, but still so many questions. I came away thinking the partner of the young guy in the junkyard (whoever he may be) has the answer. But then the DNA issue sounds like no one could be ruled in or out.

Santa Bill called Patsy on the 20th and wanted her to have her annual Christmas party on the 23rd. She had them years prior but was not planning to this year. But Santa Bill persisted telling her that Charles Kurault was going to be in town filming 'On the Road' and filming him as Santa. He wanted to be filmed at the Ramsey house. Patsy said ok and thew together a last minute party with the help of her housekeeper and neighbors. Santa showed up but Charles Kurault did not. No one mentioned pineapple.

O.k. has this story about Charles Kurault talking to McReynolds about filming him as Santa ever been confirmed or debunked?

If McReynolds truly thought that "On the Road" might be filming him I can see why he would have asked Patsy to throw the party and I can see why an attention lover like Patsy would have been thrilled to have had a film crew in her home.

But the film crew never came so either McReynolds made this up or they were stood up by Charles Kurault. I would love to know what exactly happened with that.

At any rate, Patsy probably felt a little disappointed by the crew not showing up.

On one of the videos she said she put on new underwear and grabbed the clothes from the night before (black velvet pants & red sweater). The interviewer said that was weird and she laughed and said she did it all of the time.

I think the Boulder police saw the Ramsey's differences as signs of guilt. Too cordial, too vain, too rich, etc -> guilty.

And this crime didn't happen in the age of the internet where you just hop online to find instructions for something. To me, this is something a sadist would know for sure. John and Patsy were not sadists.

Exactly.

I vaguely recall John having been in the military. But it's really not such a complicated thing.

You wouldn't choose to make a brutal weapon like a garrote from your own paint set if you accidentally killed your child. Garrote's used to be used to execute people in foreign countries. This is really beyond any rational thought.

Sure you would if you were staging a murder. There was no sign of an intruder.

Yes, there was.

Boot prints next to JB's body that did match the Ramsey's
DNA in JB's underwear and wasteband that didn't match anyone
Rope in the guest room closet next to JB's room
Open window in basement with random suitcase underneath

Sorry. It should say boot prints next to JB's body that did NOT match the Ramsey's

Right, the intruder who flew in without leaving any footprints despite the snow. Detectives determined an adult could not have entered due to the small size and the suitcase belonged to the Ramsey's. And the intruder just happened to wrote a ransom note in Patsy's handwriting that contained a ransom amount that exactly matched John's last, never publicly disclosed bonus.

None of what you said is true. The area in the back did not have snow. Grown men were shown to be able to climb through the window. The handwriting did not match Patsy's or anyone. It would be hard to match disguised writing. The bonus would have been on his paycheck stub.

I don't think they tried. Even if they could not, who is to say that the intruder didn't slip out one of the doors inside. They didn't have an alarm. By the time the PD arrived everything was contaminated, no way to tell which door was unlocked, they just looked for signs of forced entry--- completely missing an open and broken window.
