Actually, I can see her logic. The House Republicans have sworn up and down that they won't pass the Senate bill, they will work on it more. Which is what she wants. Maybe. But rather than pass it tomorrow, they may work on it more which would then lead to conference or sending a new bill to the Senate. There are major divisions in the House between the fiscal hawks and the moderates. And the Senate bill is worse than the House bill, for both sides, rather than better for either.

Trump is pushing the July 4 deadline but it's completely artificial. Delaying another few weeks would be fine.

If the bill goes to conference, it will die, because Americans are finally waking up to how bad this bill is for the country.

The person said that the GOP knows internally that a blue wave is coming in 2026, so delaying the massive cuts to happen until after that point will help the GOP because Dems will be in power when they go into effect and the GOP can stand back and say, "Look what the Dems did! We had things perfect and they effed it up again!" That will ensure public anger with the Dems and props up the GOP to win the 2028 Presidential election.

I thought that was an interesting take and one I can totally see happening. There have been stories that have come out about how worried the GOP is internally with how the public is turning on Trump, including many of his voters. They were already worried about midterms and that's one of the reasons why they stopped doing town halls as well.

Not a chance of this happening. The egregious actions inflicted by this administration will not be forgotten. Everything prior to this bill and what’s to come will result in a midterm bloodbath.

The house still has procedural and substantive power to disrupt the bastardized bill. They could reject the Senate's version and demand further changes. They can obstruct legislation, demand recorded votes on procedural motions and amendments, toss in some irrelevant amendments, and delay conference committees. They should disrupt and delay!

This has been years in the making. With the help of FOX, the Republicans have patiently built up to where we are at now. The Democrats made it easy-peasy to get to this point by falling out of touch with the average middle-class citizen who wants a good job, quality housing and reliable, affordable healthcare. The above is exactly what they wanted, and it's only beginning with ICE. Follow the money. It's not about illegal immigration and gays and transgender people and Communism and the war on Christmas and whatever other enemy or threats against American culture were conjured up, it's about a transfer of wealth to the billionaire class and forcing everyone to get in line with making it happen. Get your head out of the sand. This is what everyone said after Jan. 6, right? That Americans wouldn’t forget that Trump tried to overturn an election. Then he became a convicted felon. People voted for him anyway. Too many people in this country will believe whatever they are fed by the right wing media and Dems have not found a way to counter this properly.
