Our coach left us saying we were getting purchased by mcclean and that they were planning on revamping the entire structure. We are doing tryouts with Herndon, LFC, Barca, FCV and VRSC

PP is being silly, but I did hear there is talk of a merger with Herndon -- that one makes sense from Herndon's standpoint since they are going to be in a mess with the whole Total Futbol defection. Not sure how that would work for the age group director from GFR who was fired and went to Herndon.

Not sure how old your kids are, but my kids developed beautifully at Barca (3 years there). They are now on ECNL/MLSnext players and several former Barca teammates have also made that transition to top teams. We all would have stayed (kids loved it there) but lived too far from Leesburg. I can’t say enough good stuff about the training and coaching there. The drills/number of touches and tactical awareness they got while there was priceless. The environment was also conducive to development and about developing good people, not just players.

I agree. Barca is the best option out of the clubs you are exploring for boys. For girls, I would go with FCV.

Is GFR moving to ECNL-R next season? If not, where will their top teams play?

Most top teams play in both VPSL/ECNL-R and EDP.

GFR has and will continue to be dominant in this league. Yes, I know Loudoun Red and Arlington Red are joining. Only real competition is Vienna.

Arlington, Loudoun boys top teams will play in VPSL until U13. Then they move to ECNL and second team will move into the VPSL/ECNL-R.
