M/C going on 2 weeks now

Anonymous
I had a MMC at 8w. Took meds, everything seemed to pass within about 2 days. Right when I thought it was done, my bleeding started back up and is stronger than ever now. Called OB who said it can take 2-3 weeks (!!!) especially since my HCG levels were so high. They’re monitoring it, and HCG is coming down but still has a ways to go. Has this happened to anyone else?? I am starting to feel super anemic... weak, exhausted.

So sorry OP. I've had several MC's but only one beyond 7 weeks. It was at 11 weeks and I can't remember how long I bled, but it seems like once I passed everything it was similar to a heavy period for the duration. It took a little over a month for my HCG to reach zero. Usually if your HCG is going down appropriately everything is on track, but if you are concerned I'd ask for a scan.

I bled for 4 months! It was awful but thankfully not heavy bleeding. My doctor said it happens sometimes and it’s not a problem as long as the HCg keeps going down. I got it checked a handful of times - every couple weeks. Towards the end I also asked them to check my iron levels because I’d been bleeding so long. They were fine in my case but I’d say no harm in checking if you’re worried. And keep taking your prenatal with iron. I’m so sorry.

Np here. I had a long miscarriage as well (6weeks) that lasted almost 4 mos. it was awful and I didn’t take any meds. It was cramping like a string period off and on for 3+ months. It aged me like 5 years. Definitely felt weak and exhausted. My iron levels were also fine when they checked them. It was just taxing on my body. Best wishes op. I don’t wish that for anyone. Hopefully with the meds yours will end sooner. Big hugs. So sorry for your loss.
