You'll make bank with a CS degree from any of these schools.

That's what incredible about CS. I think the top 20 schools get recruited by the most interesting technology names. They also are working on the more cutting edge stuff. But for a career, a range of opportunities, and for grad school, you really can't go wrong with any of the top 100.

Is this an updated list? If so, nothing has changed since last year when they first published CS rankings (June 2020, I think)..

Thanks for posting the list.

I'm sure someone in VA will say that this list is BS since UMD is above UVA by a fair amount.

And Cornell is really just a community college...what are they doing up there?

So the DCUM top engineering school, VTech, is only #30, same as UVA who is supposed to be bad at engineering?

Well, Computer Science is part of the college of engineering at some schools, but not necessarily "engineering."

Can we please not turn this into a debate about UVA in some way? Is that possible?

I'm surprised that Wisconsin is as high up as it is. Isn't it pretty easy to get into? Even OOS-- like compared to Harvey Mudd and Rice?

And I would have thought Cal Poly SLO and Colorado School of Mines and the service academies would have been up higher.

What's the basis of the listing? Based on income?
Anonymous
I thought Stevens Institute of Tech, US military, US Navy, Worcester, Cali polytechnic, Air force, BU, BC, Colorado SOM, and Tufts would be ranked higher.

Emory and Georgetown are higher than I thought. Emory a program is only 4 years old I believe.

These rankings are usually based on faculty productivity. Number of publications, amount of research grant money brought in. That is highly correlated with the size of the faculty, of course. More professors means more papers and more money.
