| I feel like mine sleeps too little. He’s up at 6:45AM for virtual school, 6am on the in-school days. On the days he has sports, he stays in school for practice and gets home close to 7 PM. Then at home he showers, has dinner and then homework. It takes him long to do his homework because he has ADHD. He’s in bed usually between 11pm and midnight. He gets between 6-7hours of sleep. He’s a sophomore. |
| My son is 15 and gets 7-8 hours. He told me just today he's really tired all the time and wants to go to bed earlier. |
| 10 - 6:30 am so 8.5 hours. But DD is 13 and in MS and has rec sports start around 7 pm so she can do HW and eat before they begin. She's done with school at 2pm. |
|
My 10th grader also usually is asleep by midnight- now his virtual school starts at 9- he gets more than 8 hours of sleep
But next year, when school is back he will lose almost 2 hours of sleep. Its really too bad we didn’t learn anything from this |
| 6 is definitely not enough. Show him some info about the importance of sleep. Not getting enough is correlated with increased risk of health issues. |
| Mine are probably fully asleep by 11, and wake up at 7:30, so I guess 8.5 hours. |
| 8ish hours. Her natural sleep cycle is 9.5hrs but 8 seems okay. |

DS is usually asleep by 930 -- about 4 minutes after his head hits the pillow. He gets up by 630 three days a week, but 430 and 510 am on the days with early swim practices. He runs at school a few days a week, but otherwise comes home and does homework. He gets 6-9 hours of sleep depending on the night, then sleeps in on Sundays. Swims at 9 on saturdays.
He has his tired days and sometimes he will skip running at school. |
| DS is in middle school and has to leave at 6:40 for the bus. He gets up at 6. He usually goes to bed around 11. That’s not enough but he’s tried going to sleep earlier and can’t fall asleep. He sleeps much later Sat, Sun and Mon when he doesn’t have school. Mondays are asynchronous. |

11p-6:30a
On weekends it is 1a-11a (or whenever I wake him) |
| Wow, mine sleep a lot. They get at least 9 hours a night and sometimes 12. Their schedules are not typical either. One has school starting some days at 9 and others at 10:30. The other doesn't start before noon, but works until 11 most nights. |
| 4.5 hours per night and that is an improvement. He suffers from insomnia. Sigh. |
|
14 year old boy.
Bed by about midnight or 1am, and gets up around 8:30 for virtual, which starts at 9 (middle school). |
Same. DD has had sleep issues for years. We've done sleep studies which didn't help. Really, I think her main issue is a genetically late sleep phase. DH is also happiest sleeping 2-10am and fortunately has a work arrangement that allows that. Unfortunately, doesn't work for high school! |
| 16 year old is usually asleep by 11 and gets up at 6:30 (even though virtual school doesn't start till after 9. So 7.5. |
