Would you let your kids eat at a mall food court or restaurant?

Anonymous
My kids have eaten a handful of times but not indoors at all. With cases so low, I’m wondering if we can resume some limited indoor dining. So far we have not thought it was worth the risk. DH and I are both vaccinated. I ate out a few times this month and it was so nice. I miss eating out with the family. The restaurants I want to eat at don’t have outdoor dining options.

Meant to say they have eaten outside a handful of times.

Stop being crazy and just do it.

Yes. But we’ve been eating inside since the restaurants opened. Fwiw- We only have outside play dates and masks on.

But I think our level of risk are galaxies apart.

We have been behaving the same since last spring. We always felt comfortable being out and about including travel early on. We socialized with a few people and basically hang out with the same people as last spring and summer.

I wouldn't, but I've been fully vaccinated since February and still won't eat indoors at a restaurant.

OP, please don't listen to people like this. They have truly lost their minds and may never be OK again.

Of course I would let my kids eat at a restaurant under the circumstances you describe - and I have been, for many months, long before I was fully vaxxed.

I wouldn’t. Especially now where there are so many places to eat outside.

I have not lost my mind. I am a scientist and I listen to public health experts, but understand that there are others who feel comfortable eating in restaurants since they've been vaccinated. With that said, why endanger your children like this? The children don't have a choice and look to us to make the safest and best choices for them. They are not vaccinated and there are plenty of places to dine outdoors.

"Endanger" your children? Yes, you've lost your mind. And I don't believe for a minute that you have anything close to a real science degree.

I will eat inside without them (we are fully vaccinated), but we will be sticking to outdoor dining or takeout with kids until either a higher percentage of adults are fully vaccinated and/or kids are vaccinated.

Yes, I have and would.

Nope. DH and I are vaccinated and we will dine indoors, but if the kids are with us we will only dine outdoors.
