Would you let your kids eat at a mall food court or restaurant?

This isn't really helpful, useful or kind. And please with "well the other side is just as rude." You can only control how rude you are.

A mall food court seems like a weird place to eat anyway. I’d get take away or go somewhere with outdoor seating. We get take out for picnics sometimes.

We are fully vaccinated but have not eaten in a restaurant or even gotten takeout since last March. We’ve discovered we prefer our own food at home, so no need for restaurant food.

I don't even like food courts PRE pandemic. Too stuffy and unhealthy food. Go anywhere but there.

What’s the risk?

Covid.

Do you worry this much about flu? Driving in a car?

No, I see no reason to take the risk. Take the food to go and eat in your car if need be.

I will continue taking precautions. Besides, we have a lovely patio that is wonderfully lit. We continue to get take outs and eat in our backyard. When we have vaccinated friends over, we maintain proper distance in our backyard.

Why do you think lack of masking is to blame for the spread? Do you think Japan gave up on masks?

Rural Trumpers in Texas must be masking hard.

I would consider, what are the rates of COVID in your community and is it just your family sitting together at the restaurant or will there be other families with kids.

Just your family with low rates of covid: yes
High rates of COVID and kids from multiples families: no

OP, please don't listen to people like this. They have truly lost their minds and may never be OK again.

Of course I would let my kids eat at a restaurant under the circumstances you describe - and I have been, for many months, long before I was fully vaxxed.

I have not lost my mind. I am a scientist and I listen to public health experts, but understand that there are others who feel comfortable eating in restaurants since they've been vaccinated. With that said, why endanger your children like this? The children don't have a choice and look to us to make the safest and best choices for them. They are not vaccinated and there are plenty of places to dine outdoors.

Too much science can make you crazy.

The one at the Montgomery county mall is pretty nice. Love that Sarku of Japan!

It seems to me that you are mistaking your UMC privilege for moral superiority and responsibility. It’s off-putting and ignorant.

Haha
