| I'd all but given up on finding a "healthy" bread but had Dave's Killer bread recently and was surprised to find I really enjoyed it (as an avocado toast). So now I want to buy some myself but the choices are overwhelming. What's your go-to healthy bread? |
| Ezekiel. |
Does it taste good? |
| Dave's Killer Bread is fantastic. I recently discovered it myself. |
It tastes healthy |
On other words, No, it does not taste good. |
I would say Ezekiel bread is an "acquired taste". You can get used to anything if that is your best or only option. I think it's better as avocado toast or with something like egg salad. Dave's is quite good, but I'm partial to Alvarado Street Bakery. My preference is their Sprouted Whole Wheat but the California Style and Sprouted Wheat Sourdough are also pretty good. |
| I was surprised how much I liked Dave’s (a thin tilted slice with a smear of guacamole). So I assumed there must be something healthy eaters don’t like about it. |
I think their sliced bread isn't very good, but their cinnamon raisin english muffins slathered with some nut butter is delicious!! My favorite breakfast |
| Whole Foods has good choices in their fresh bakery section for bread- like fire bread, russian bread, rye bread. I only buy bread from that store. |
|
Dave's has added sugar. Ezekiel bread does not.
I still buy Dave's. |
|
Tried Ezekiel and Dave's Killer and disliked both. Nothing is as good as my own homemade sourdough
|
I like it. It’s not wonder bread soft so you must like seeds in your bread. |
Agree. Just eat good bread infrequent. Make a sandwich in a small sized whole grain wrap or have a salad, soup, anything else |
Interesting. I find whole grain wraps inedible. But I like Dave’s (figures it has added sugar). But I don’t like any sourdough, so I obviously don’t know bread. |
