I’m moving from one side of Rockville to the other. I can move most of my little stuff but want someone to move the furniture. Can anyone recommend their local mover who’s good with time, not damaging furniture (of the walls?) thanks!
I used Blake & Sons when moving in Rockville. They did an awesome job!
I used Bargain Movers recently for a local move in Rockville. Great job packaging and moving items, and they pointed out any pre-existing damage before moving items, which I thought was helpful.
+1 for Blake and Sons. They did a really good job for a reasonable price.
I was really happy with MAT Movers out of the Gaithersburg/Germantown area.
All I can say is do NOT use Beltway Movers. They were awful and their estimate was off by thousands.
I like Mic's Moving in Kensington - they did a nice job with our local move a few years ago.
Bookstore Movers is great.
Jk Moving and Storage.
+1. I had wonderful experience with Bookstore Movers. |
Gulliver's Movers
+2. I've only used them for small 1-bedroom moves, though. Not sure if they take bigger jobs. Also recommend My Truck Buddy. Just as fast and professional. Very accommodating with special requests - I wanted to drop off a bed that I no longer wanted at a friend's one neighborhood away, on the way, and they said no problem, even with an additional flight of stairs up her place (I paid them for the additional time, obviously). |
If you are ok with risking a few scratches cheapest way by far is to get people from movinghelp.com. They don’t have insurance as far as I know but if you tell the movers to take it easy with the heavy stuff they are paid by hour and promise cash bonus if no scratches then you can save thousands relative to licensed and bonded company. They will pick up and drive the uhaul for you as well.

Thanks all, you've given me some good places to start.
