Anybody heard from Rock Spring or Mt. Olivet (Arlington)

Mt Olivet posts its updates on the web site. Check the piece of paper you took home and I'm sure the link is there. Last I checked they finished taking applications on the 25th, they are now filling the spaces (so yes, some parents have been contacted) and they will post the wait list when that is complete.

i recently got an email from rock spring confirming we applied and that they will be notifying people throughout the month..but nothing yet for us. the info on olivet's site isn't up yet. just go to their regular site and check periodically i guess?

Mt Olivet's waitlist is up on their website... our number is ridiculous on the waitlist. good luck to everyone else!

Question to those on this string-how does it work then if they all give decisions at different times but yet require acceptance and deposit within 24 hours.

We are expecting to hear from 1 school we really like next week. The Director was clear in saying that if an offer is made they will give us 24 hours. But what if the other schools we like (like RockSpring and Mt. Olivet) haven't made their final selections yet? Also, it seems a few others only just scheduled their play dates for this week or next (but no decisions until end of month). Makes it hard to try to manage it all!

PS- I thought from the open house that Rock Spring 'lottery' week vs. across the month...hmmmm. If you get accepted there, how long do they give you to accept? Same with Mt. Olivet. BTW- I think Rock Spring is far less of a lottery than Mt. Olivet (given the application requirements). Do others agree?

Sorry- very new to Arlington and trying to figure out how it all works.

good question.. I've been curious of this myself. My interpretation is that you either pay your deposit to secure your spot and risk losing the deposit if you choose another school, or pass until you get the school you want and risk losing the spot you were offered.. I could be wrong though..

Ok- So Mt. Olivet--were you in the triple digits or double digits??--ha ha ha!

I felt bad about our spot until I saw it went up to 110- LORDY!

I guess I am glad it wasn't our top choice as we have no shot in **** in making it through given our current double digit number! That said we probably won't make it into the others as well. Good thing we like our nanny!

Agreed!

I've been waitlisted at two other schools (smaller than Mt. Olivet but just as great) and the numbers there are much more reasonable (i.e. single digits).

Still have yet to hear from our top two choices so crossing fingers!

# kids on the waitlists at Mt Olivet:
young infant/toddlers: 16
older infant/toddlers: 51
2 year old: 108
3 year old: 76
4 year old: 13

looks like some #s were already pulled (assuming to fill the current classes)

Yes, because I'm right behind you. No no, just kidding. I am slightly behind you and I was wondering the same thing. I hope you get in. I have a backup but really like the school.
