Is moissanite tacky?

I just bought a moissanite half eternity ring to wear because I have gained a lot of weight and my rings don't fit anymore. I don't want to resize because I hope to lose the weight this year. Will people look down on me for the moissanite ring?

OP here - I'm not trying to pass it off as diamonds, I actually really like how much they sparkle (definitely differently than diamonds). I'm only just now thinking that people might look and be like "oh, she got a fake diamond ring"

I would feel tacky wearing that. Would others be able to tell, probably not. But I’d rather wear no rings than fake diamonds

OP here, nope it's just a half-eternity to wear as a wedding band - 3mm wide. I discovered the moissanite sub-reddit and the ladies on their are obsessed but I wanted a deal and figured they'd know where to find one.

This. Good grief. I actually appreciate when people show me their true colors - makes it easier for me. A “friend” once judged a car not knowing it was what my husband drove. It was helpful to know how shallow she was.

I have both, always get compliments for the fakes, LOL. One woman in my children's circle meaning we carpooled to events when they were young, who went bankrupt twice never pays her taxes puts on airs always.

And who cares anyway. OP if you like it wear it. That is the important part, feeling good about yourself. Who cares what pretentious people think.
