| I love dogs but this dog is not comfortable living in the White House. I suspect too many people and this is not a dog who wants to be around people other than his family. It happens. They should send the dog back to Delaware and get more training. |
| They should remove the dog from an unsuitable environment. If it means rehoming or sending it to live with family elsewhere so be it. Not fair to the dog or the staff at the WH. |
This is what I thought. The dog is scared or nervous and it's not fair to him. |
| Is the dog a rescue? Probably has problems without being in a stressful environment. |
| Yeah he needs to send the dog back to DE permanently. |
Yes, he is. |
Agree. So many different people all of the time. |
| Dog needs to live somewhere else. Two times biting somebody is a clear signal something needs to change. |
| They already did send him back - weeks ago: https://www.cnn.com/2021/03/08/politics/president-joe-biden-white-house-dogs/index.html . |
And brought him back. He “nipped” someone quite recently. |
| Here’s the deal, Middle Class Joe: this weird dog’s gotta go back to Delaware. |
| Should be put down - any other dog would have been |
Seriously? For biting? That’s what dogs do. |
No, it’s not. At least it’s not what they are supposed to do. Under DC laws, Biden could be held criminally responsible for this second incident. Under California and many other state laws, the dog would be required to be put down for biting two people. |
In the first incident the dog reportedly did not break skin. Not sure about the second but that was reportedly “without injury” so also does not sound like an penetrating bite. https://thehill.com/blogs/in-the-know/in-the-know/543616-biden-defends-his-dog-major-did-not-bite-someone-and-penetrate https://www.usatoday.com/story/entertainment/celebrities/2021/03/30/major-biden-dog-second-biting-incident-white-house/4811855001/ I don’t think a non penetrating nip would count as a strike requiring euthanasia. But definitely a warning sign that something should be done in terms of training and environment. |
