Blake Lively- Jason Baldoni and NYT - False Light claims

Anonymous
We told you that Blake was this person a few hundred pages ago. The denials. The gaslighting. The “you never have anything but negative to say about Blake” comments.

When TK unfollowed RR, I knew it was definitely over then. More contortions.

So can we now say that this is probably a cooked friendship? And can we say that if these allegations about extortion and spoilage are true, that Blake probably did the same to Justin?

Can we also conclude that Blake plays dirty and will throw anyone under the bus?

Are we at that point yet?

If this is proven true. Yes. Lively's done. I've been sympathetic to her. This is another level. IF it's true.

Not quite. He was a superstar partner at Boies Schiller but left to head up the team he currently runs at Wilkie. Likely the move helped him go from one of many huge name lawyers to top dog, and likely also came with a pay raise because he PR baby brings in a larger share of billings at Wilkie than anyone could at Boies (basically impossible to ever touch what Boies and Schiller were bringing in). He's not the only one who left -- Karen Dunn was also a hot shot at BS but jumped to Paul Weiss.

Gottlieb has the kind of career most lawyers, or at least litigators, dream of. SC clerk, White House, Judiciary Committee, Boies partner, then essentially running his own shop at Wilkie where he calls the shots.

There is simply no chance that guy risks his rep on Blake freaking Lively. No way he did what Freedman his alleging here. I'm saying it now and I'll issue a formal apology to the thread for being wrong if I am. But I'm not.

Esra Hudson responds for Wilkie, asking Liman to strike the letter, saying its allegations are untrue, and reserving the right to seek sanctions. https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.nysd.634304/gov.uscourts.nysd.634304.218.0.pdf

Hudson's letter also particularly notes that within minutes of the letter appearing on the docket, media outlets started reporting on it, including one 40+ paragraph story from the Daily Mail -- noting this trial by press was another reason to strike the letter.

I doubt he voluntarily left Boies for Wilkie, it’s a huge demotion. Paul Weiss, on the other hand, is a lateral move.

It's a good legal letter, but feels like Lively's attorneys are out of their depth when it comes to the PR war. I e\wonder if they consult with Shapiro on filings like this. This letter is kind of bland and academic - I relate to that as a lawyer in this thread who has been told by the people more interested in gossip that our legalposting is boring and tedious! It doesn't have the mic drop feeling that Freedman's letter did, obviously.

Aren’t they the fake subpoena people? Manatt?

If BF’s letter is just allegations, why didn’t the Hudson letter contain any reference to Venable? Surprised there wasn’t any reference to confirming facts with Venable as a way to shut this down.

Venable’s response is needed!

Four hours and lots of media coverage and still crickets from Taylor/Venable.

I don't think Blake is that stupid to blackmail Taylor.

Deleting texts is still evidence spoilage. It’s still wrong and unethical.

Is BF perhaps exaggerating a “friendly conversation about CYA” to blackmail? Perhaps but deleting texts is wrong.

Taylor will not allow herself to get dragged into this and will fight to extricate herself even if it means telling on Blake.

Obviously it is wrong. But my point was that this seems more realistic.

Yes, different lawyer from Manatt.

That is a very fair point.

I cannot follow this thread because you guys are all referring to lawyers and I have no idea who reps who.

Lively and Reynolds lawyers are primarily Michael Gottlieb (Wilkie) and Esra Hudson (Mannatt).

Taylor’s lawyers are from Venable

Just Baldoni and the Wayfarer parties are represented by Brian Freedman and Mitchell Schuster.
