Is denial the first stage of grief? |
Now Page Six has it up too
https://pagesix.com/2025/05/14/celebrity-news/blake-lively-allegedly-threatened-to-expose-taylor-swifts-private-texts-as-justin-baldoni-drama-reaches-tipping-point/ Blake Lively allegedly threatened to expose Taylor Swift’s private texts as Justin Baldoni drama reaches tipping point |
I agree with PP. This is going down as expected. And it’s a bit dramatic to say she’s aggressively fighting the subpoena. That’s what clients with experienced lawyers do, they try to limit (aka fight) subpoenas. So those two things are not mutually exclusive. She could be ‘fighting the subpoena’ while also having her PR tip off freedman. |
I think we can safety say if this is false Taylor will respond with a denial. If she doesn't then she is indeed working with Justin on some level. |
Or a tepid denial. That’s my bet. Some carefully chosen words |
Is anyone else completely lost? I am. |
My thought is that Blake told TS to delete some text messages that could be harmful to her in the lawsuit and it got twisted into this.
I don't think Blake is that stupid to blackmail Taylor. |
Deleting texts is still evidence spoilage. It’s still wrong and unethical. Is BF perhaps exaggerating a “friendly conversation about CYA” to blackmail? Perhaps but deleting texts is wrong. Taylor will not allow herself to get dragged into this and will fight to extricate herself even if it means telling on Blake. |
I think the smartest thing Taylor can do is to continue not to say anything. Saying it's true makes her more relevant to this case while saying it's not true makes it look like she's colluding with Blake.
This is really about Freedman vs. Gottlieb's reputations at this point. |
100% agree and it’s been a few hours and no denial yet, so… |
Yeah, I can believe Blake is dumb and unethical enough to do that. I have a hard time believing her lawyer (a former Supreme Court clerk) contacted Venable asking for a PR statement from Swift in exchange for not releasing embarrassing texts. At most he could have said something like "we hope to be able to work with you on behalf of both our clients to vigorously defend their privacy rights" but he couldn't be stupid enough to make threats. The whole thing about trying to force Taylor to make a statement sounds like when Baldoni claimed Blake wanted him to publish an apology statement Reynolds wrote (I forgot if he had proof of that or not, but someone had said the personal trainer ended up publishing an apology with similar language, lol). So it kind of feels like some mixing of stuff that sounds like it could have plausibly happened with other stuff that is a stretch. Hard to believe Freedman will deliver receipts here - my hats off to him if he does. |
RR was just accused of spoliation in another lawsuit last fall with a photographer that took pictures for his gin company. He seemingly settled it because it was dismissed within less than a week. Taken together with the sham lawsuit and subpoena and the creators being muted, it just seems on brand for them. I don’t think Blake’s above asking Taylor to delete texts. She behaves like someone who thinks they’re untouchable. |
I kind of agree. I think the best thing she can do is just respond in court. I won't take silence as anything for right now. Maybe she's cooking up her own motion |
Gottlieb somehow went from a Supreme Court clerk to working at a mid tier law firm. He’s no icon of perfection. |
Except BF has also asserted that Venable's motion to quash will be mooted. If so, what's the hold up? The only entity to reply yet is Gottlieb, with a strong denial. You would think of Venable/Swift were working with BF, they would have spoken up by now to confirm. I think the reality is going to be muddier than either side has presented. |
