While they discuss the importance of women in STEM and the value of representation for young girls of color, they spend a whole lot of time talking about their “glam.” The most memorable, embarrassing exchange is between Lauren Sánchez and Katy Perry:

ELLE: This will be the first time anybody went to space with their hair and makeup done.

LS: Who would not get glam before the flight?!

KP: Space is going to finally be glam. Let me tell you something. If I could take glam up with me, I would do that. We are going to put the “ass” in astronaut.

Later, Sánchez says, “We’re going to have lash extensions flying in the capsule!”

Trash. And dumber than a rock.

I would have expected absolutely nothing less from that pathetic group of women.

I'd love to know the story about that divorce.

Different politics, different ambitions and a bicoastal marriage. They didn’t have kids so it must have been an easier decision. They’re still friends.

Is that actually her in that photo above?

It is.

How does Jeff read this nitwit babble and not run away from this gold digging train wreck?

His first wife was smart (Princeton grad, author, did the accounting for Amazon when it first started to help build his dream) and caring (has given away 30bn+ of her divorce settlement to the most disadvantaged in America in record time). I guess he had a mid-life crisis and decided he wanted his vision of the popular fun girl.

DP. Or he wanted a certain type of woman for having and raising his children and another for himself. It’s actually very transactional and fits his MO.

It's so sad, because Hollywood celebrities have shown them the way for years. It is actually possible to let oneself age but with some artificial perks and graces along the way.

But as said in the MAGA Beauty thread... maybe the unconscious goal is to show you've had plastic surgery and sacrificed your body and self-respect on the altar of the male gaze.

It’s like they’d rather look like a young extraterrestrial than a human woman their age.

Hence the trip to space (or low Earth orbit or whatever this is)

I actually think Lauren would be kind of cool to hang out with. She is probably pretty adventurous and fun! She isn’t just a bimbo - she has actually had several careers and accomplishments. She was a celebrity in her own right before she met Bezos and while he is way richer - and more famous of course - she held her own. She is not afraid to be who she is and she is living her best life and if they ever broke up she would still be fine. I actually think she totally humanizes him - unlike Elon’s endless string of baby mommas.

+100

It’s ridiculous. Also she was famous because of her previous husband. But yes, we all want to hang out with Lauren. Did you know she flies helicopters?

Too bad they won't be up long enough to deal with poo.
Hopefully they vomit.

I was on here defending her a few weeks ago, but I will say that article was absolutely disgusting to the point of being offensive. Shame on them.

Here they are in their Lauren-designed space suits. I'm surprised she didn't put them in short little skirts like Star Trek.

Article all about them - including what underwear Lauren is wearing (Skims) - https://www.nytimes.com/2025/04/12/style/lauren-sanchez-blue-origin-spacesuit-monse.html?unlocked_article_code=1._U4.ha3L.lvyvAfX1yD_V&smid=url-share
