Just venting a little. I'm sad about it, even though it's the right thing to do. Passover is my favorite holiday, and my bestie and I for years have thrown a lovely and huge and inclusive joint seder, and man...I miss that so much. We almost went forward this year and then came to our senses.
It'll be OK. |

I’m sorry. That stinks.
But next year it’s gonna feel like Jerusalem for sure! |
| That's tough, I know. We'll not have an Easter gathering and I'm sad about that too. Thank you for making the responsible choice. Wishing you peace and the blessings of hope in this spring. |

Do it on Zoom?
We are so looking forward to the Zoom seder this year. At last year's seder my mother had just been put on a ventilator due to covid, my house was almost falling down (major pipe and sewer problems, literal holes in the walls), my father was recovering from covid, my young kids had been pulled from school and were confused, we were going crazy trying to figure out how to work while watching them in a house that had no water service. We did a zoom seder with the rest of the family in multiple states and everyone was lonely and terrified because no one knew yet how covid really spread and there were no masks available even if one wanted them. This year, thank G-d, my mother is still with us, everyone in the family over age 70 -- including my own grandparents in their 90s -- is vaccinated, we've acclimated to distance learning and work, the house is mostly repaired. I am so happy and grateful to do a Zoom seder and truly have everyone there. Hoping to be in person next year of course, but this year feels like such a gift. |
| I feel the same way. Passover is my favorite too. |
| I say do it in your back yard at two separate tables at least 6 feet apart! |
| Thanks, all. There is definitely going to be some zooming and porch waving. It is not the same, but hey, we're here and have a lot to be joyful about. PP 21:47, I am so glad everyone you mentioned is still here. I hope you have a wonderful Pesach. |

I’m sorry, OP.
I wish my parents could be with us this year, as we’ve just started to host our own Seder. May it happen next year. |
