What would you do in this situation?

I recently had a miscarriage and I am waiting for my period to return after the D&C. The clinic suggested I call them as soon as I get my period. I am physically going into the office, but not every day. I am worried that as more people get vaccinated, I will have to return to work full-time which is added stress (commuting, etc) since my husband has been working outside home as well. When do you think things will start really opening up? We were planning on starting our transfer (frozen by recommendation by our doctor) in July or August. Should I push it up earlier because of things returning back to normal? Right now, things aren't stressful, but I am worried they will be in a couple months, so a part of me thinks to start earlier, but another part of me wants my body to heal and to take vacations as planned.

How old are you? And how many cycles/transfers have you done? How many embryos?

I would say don’t wait. I regret waiting so long to transfer (about6 months, because of work travel and getting married) after my first cycle. I only had one embryo and was naive to think that it would work.

OP here. I am 36. It will be my first.

I second the “don’t wait” rec.

Thanks for the advice. I will call them as soon as I get my period and start stims.

It took me 12 weeks to get my period back after a D&C.

Oh my goodness. Mine took 6 weeks the first time.

Your embryo is either going to take or it won't. If I were in your shoes, I might consider which sign I'd want my baby to have ... July transfer will likely be an Aries, which are fun but exhausting. If you wait, you'll get a Taurus, which is very stubborn.

How long does the IVF process take from start to finish? Haven't done stims, but already went for bloodwork.

A lot depends on what testing and diagnostics your clinic wants to do. You had blood work done, but have you had an HSG? Does your clinic require a saline sonogram (mock transfer) before beginning? Do you need a laparoscopic procedure for diagnosis prior to proceeding? Any of those can set you back one or two months or more. if not, then from start to finish for egg retrieval can be anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks depending on whether you have to go on birth control for a month before beginning. The transfer of an embryo back in will take place either two or three days after egg retrieval if you are doing a fresh transfer, or 4 to 8 weeks if you will be freezing embryos for testing. So if you were totally clear with all diagnostics and were to start tomorrow, you could be transferring an embryo in in as little as 4 weeks, or as many as 10 to 12 weeks.

As you can tell there is a lot dependent on your individual diagnosis and clinic protocol, and of course what winds up happening with your cycle and if you wind up with viable embryos to work with.

Wow, a frozen transfer takes up to two months?
