Worried we (mainly Shiite) crossed boundary with nanny

Anonymous
Our nanny took the day off today for a Uti. I of course was fine with this and it was easier for dh to take off so he stayed with the kids today. I was chatting about the day with my kids and my dd said she watched a show with nanny. I asked dh and he said daughter kept going down to visit her and check on her and she watched tv with her while he was on a call. He said he texted her and she said “I don’t mind at all, I enjoy the company.” But I really feel we over stepped and feel awful. I can’t take back the day and I will explain to nanny that we realize this was wrong and we don’t disturb her like this again when she is off. Is there anything else I can do? The nanny is very open with her space and invites kids into her area often so I can see why dd felt ok going down there but still feel awful. Dh is baffled because he texted her and she said it was fine, I worry she felt like she had to say that.

Your subject heading is confusing.

That said, I wouldn't tie myself into knots about it; apologize for intruding on her day off, and don't do it again.

She needs a lock. Was it unlocked?

If nanny has day off, she should have the day off. Meaning, leave here alone.

However, I am confused about how being Shiite comes into play with a nanny with urinary tract infection. Unless I am misreading something...

Pay her for the time dd was down there. Your dh is clueless, and he shouldn’t have asked her if she could watch dd on her day off.

I'm confused by your title

The sectarian part of your subject aside, it’s good you recognize this wasn’t the right thing to do and it’s a good idea to apologize and tell sh it doesn’t matter if he understands/agree but that you’re 100% sure you are right and he shouldn’t ever do it again.

Not clear how religion plays into this. Is the nanny a different religion? Are there different customs in your respective religions regarding days off?

NP. My theory - I think “Shiite” instead of “DH” wins the award for weirdest autocorrect ever.

Maybe the DH alone with nanny?
