DC Health removes cohort limits and mixing ban!

DC Health updated guidance removing the 12 person limit on cohorts and while still strongly encouraging no mixing, no longer bans mixing!!! This is HUGE to open up!!

Yeah, what Bowser actually said is that she understands the CDC is reconsidering the 6-foot guidance and DC will see after that. No guarantees but very promising.

Trying to find if they changed the limits for Prek classes, it was 8 kids for prek3 and 10 for prek4.

Not that huge for elementary schools, removing the cap, but still requires 6 feet - so nothing will really change given classroom size for many if not most classes.

So this new guidance empowers private schools, but what does it do for DCPS? Nothing says they have to take a more aggressive approach. I missed the presser conference but was there any suggestions that DCPS will be pursuing plans that have larger cohorts?

Perhaps it varies by school but my kid is in person and his classroom has a ton of space since they removed all the extra furniture and stations. Could easily fit five more kids but prob even do 20 spaced out throughout the room
