| We will be at my parents house for a month and they don’t have a crib for the baby (13 months old). We have used pack and play for him and it’s worked fine but I am worried about him sleeping in it for a month straight. Anything else I could look at getting that is more comfortable? |
| I can’t think of anything, but because he’s over a year, you could put some blankets down and a pillow. That should make it more comfortable. |
| You can buy an extra mattress that fits the PnP. It’s about 2” and works great. The sheet fits over it too. |
Yup, get a mattress and it is very comparable to a crib, just smaller. |
| We got a pack and play mattress, too. |
| Get a 3"or 5" mattress for it and itll be fine. |
| Like PPs get a pack and play mattress. It was fairly similar to the crib |
| Guava lotus. We are on vacation now. Pack n plays meant trash sleep for all of my kids. The guava mattress is 1000 times more comfy. And it’s smaller. |
| Don't worry about it. Our kids move back and forth between cribs and pack n plays with no problems. Our 3 year old and one year old recently slept in them for two months straight. |
| Yeah, I was going to say don't worry about it. I'm pretty convinced that all of these extra mattresses etc that are on the market are strictly for the parents. Most kids are totally fine in a pnp as is. |
+1 The lotus crib was great, and very quick to set up. Also there is a zipper flap at the bottom so your child can crawl in and out, which is easier on your back. |
| Buy a crib or mini crib. You will be happy. They sell folding mini cribs if space for keeping it up forever. It is your parents so I assume you will visit more by than once. For not much more than a lotus you can get a crib and mattress |
I love the lotus but do not think it is worth buying for just this purpose, especially when you already have a pack n play. I've used both and I honestly don't think most kids care that much. I mostly like the lotus for that zippered flap at the bottom because it was easier for me when the baby was bigger. I would just let him sleep in the pack n play but if he seems uncomfortable buy the mattress. The month will go by faster than you think and I'd want to minimize how much extra stuff I buy for it. |
Love the lotus, it was one of the best shower gifts we received. There is no weight limit because the mattress rests on the floor and it isn't as likely to tip over as a PNP. Our toddler slept in it full time for 2 months when we moved and our regular crib was in storage, and it worked really well. |
| Team Pack n Play over here. |
