Thoughts on this name? Too close to Colleen?
Haven’t even checked social security website to see how common it is at the moment. |
| Hate it. But to be fair, I hate all the -ette names. |
| I like it! Fresh yet classic. |
| My mind went to Colette the chef from Ratatouille, then Les Mis but that was Cosette so I don’t know why. I like it! |

Are you French? I don't normally care about that too much but in this case, Collette is such a quintessentially French name without much use outside France or French immigrants, that I think it could come off as pretentious if you don't have the connection.
But I think it's a pretty name. |
See I actually think it’s French, but less so than say, Delphine. |
| I know people with this as a last name, so not just French. It just means little necklace. I like Camille better. Or Nicolette. But it’s v pretty and not pretentious. |
| I like it |

I like it a lot.
|
| I like Colette. And Sabine. |
| Would name my kid that if my name wasn’t Nicole, which is essentially the same (Nicole->Nicolette->Colette) |
| I like it. I considered it for a middle name. But it is actually a nickname for Nicolette, no sure if that bothers you or not. It bothered me enough not to use it. |
I never knew that. I actually thought Nicolette sounded made up! I love the name Colette and if my son had been a girl, her middle name would have been Colette. Like a pp said, I felt it would have been pretentious since we don't have a French connection, but I was ok with it as a middle name. |
| I love it! |

I'm Irish, and it pops up surprisingly often in Irish families. I love it!
