PG County Specialty Lottery

Anyone get the results today? I "think" we got into both the specialty lottery schools we applied to, but one says "non-designate," does anyone know what that means?

Yes, I got an acceptance email today. My child had sibling preference. Not sure what non-designate means.

We got an acceptance for one twin and waitlist for the other for CMIT South for K. We are declining. We are going Catholic.

My DC is in the 200s for a 9th grade spot at College Park Academy and CMIT North. Since 9th isn't an entry year, we weren't expecting a spot at either.

Has anyone heard anything about when the High School STEM lottery is taking place? The website says letters will be mailed by 3/22, but hope they do it sooner.

I didn't think they would split twins. Both of my twins were accepted, but for a PGCPS Speciality Program. The PGCPS Charter schools must handle it differently.

Each twin has their own number. So if I accept the seat for the one twin, it would bump the other twin up to the top of waitlist

Twins get ranked sequentially, so it's possible for them to be split if Twin A gets the last spot and Twin B ends up on the waitlist, but in that case Twin B would be waitlist spot #1.

Top charters? I hate to say this but PGCPS as a whole is what it is. CMIT is probably gonna get my vote if I had to choose one

Agree, it is what it is. Some “great” school are terrible for some kids. There are so many factors that go into it, and the schools in PGCPS are very different. I’ve found that the system as a whole is disappointing, but you can have a wonderful experience if you are able to find the school that works for you

North or south? We're considering applying.

Had anyone seen their waitlist number move on the scriborder site? Supposedly there are going to be realtime updates this year. I know that the first round acceptances have until Monday to accept and register. Fingers crossed that we get closer!
