Spring uniform?

Ah . . . spring . . . the crocuses, the birdsong, the give of the soil . . . and the daily angst over what to wear (a feature of pre-pandemic life that hasn't changed). My winter uniform was jeans (vintage straight Levi's or dark-wash skinnies) and a neutral (navy or grey or oatmeal) cashmere sweater (v-neck or a buttoned-up cardigan with a scarf). Boring, I know, but I always felt comfortable and looked good on Zoom and for outdoor socializing and errands.

But now what? I can switch out my dark skinny jeans for straight-leg white jeans and I have a white cotton v-neck sweater that I like, plus a navy cardigan and one that's a pretty coral-pink cardigan. Oh, and a button-front chambray shirt. What else should I have in my capsule-ish wardrobe?

I don’t do capsule. But I wear a ton of dresses in spring. Can’t wait.

I like to pair airy linen blend cardigans with tanks and jeans or straight leg ankle length chinos.

How about straight or wide-leg light wash denim?

Are denim button down shirts still in fashion? They seem a bit 2017.

A pretty fitted fleece pullover. Love fleece in spring, it’s a sweater it’s a coat, it’s got a light weight shirt under in case it’s suddenly hot it’s flattering

Tell me about your dresses . . . which styles do you like? how do you wear them? where do you buy them?

I don't wear them for fashion. I toss one over joggers and a tshirt.

Lol love fleece but it’s not “flattering”.

Agree. I think they are timeless. And soooo versatile— you can dress it up with a skirt and jewelry, dress it down with shorts, it can be a layering piece in warm or cool weather. It’s like a denim jacket but more comfortable and can be worn more ways.

So much nicer than skinny jeans.

Disagree. These mom jeans do not provide a flattering silhouette. Especially that top pair. So ugly!

I don't think so. These aren't the exaggerated mom jeans. These are just normal looking jeans, in a good way Unlike skinnies - which I loved - which were more like jean-colored leggings. These seem like they combine the best of skinny jeans and mom jeans, without being too costumey.
