WETA - If You Lived Here

Anonymous
Is anyone else watching WETA's local version of House Hunters? https://weta.org/tv/program/if-you-lived-here

I watched the Shaw one and it cracked me up - the hosts had only uncritical statements about each place and a piece on Shaw featured precisely on person of color. That said, it is kind of fun that its so local.

Hadn't even heard of it, but now I'm going to check it out this evening to see the Waterfront episode. The neighborhoods do seem a little all over the place - Shaw, H st... and Silver Spring?

Fun! Thanks for the recommendation. Will check it out.

This looks like a fun watch, thanks OP!

We enjoyed the show and a being able to have look at what prices are like in other areas of the region. I hope they will make more episodes!

I liked the idea, but the hosts and their seeming rule of positive comments only are annoying. I watched Silver Spring and Shaw.

the host's hat says everything you need to know about the show

That was neat - I hadn't realized southwest was the most socioeconomically diverse part of the city or how distinctly MCM the architecture is.

I've lived in SW for 15 years and until very recently (with the new Wharf stuff) most of my NW friends had no concept whatsoever of where I lived. I might as well have been living in Haymarket to them.

Love the show but the hosts are missing something and maybe they are too positive and never negative criticism of the properties shown. I’d love to see the show continue with other areas of the region.

According to Washingtonian, there will, indeed, be a Hill episode.

Yeah, I wish, instead of the Wharf apartment, at the end, they'd looked at another of the MCM ones - like that one you see in the quick establishing shots that has this huge fountain/pond thing in the courtyard or the high rises that seemed to be near the townhouse they looked at.
