At home gym equipment

What is in your at home gym? We have an elliptical, a treadmill and a bench press that my husband bought on Craigslist. it's so gross but we don't work out much. We go through phases and I hate to spend a lot of money on something I won't use.

I've never been able to predict what I'm going to use and I go through phases. Right now, I love my sandbag, and it's cheap and doesn't take up much space. And it was fun putting it together. My 20-lb dumbbells have gotten a lot of use, and my pull-up bar, at various points.

I have a yoga mat, yoga blocks, several #s of dumbbells, and resistance bands that I use regularly. Also a TRX, which I use semi-regularly. I wouldn't invest in anything that takes up space.

Treadmill and spin bike. Adjustable dumbbells, yoga mat, blocks, resistance bands, bench. Peloton app.

Squat rack w/pullup bar, long elastic bands for pull-up assistance, barbells, plates, couple kettlebells, plyo box, bench. Dumbbells in the office where I use them on calls.

I think cardio equipment in the house is bizarre.

Peloton, fold up treadmill, dumbbells and a barbell with weights. Plus yoga mat/blocks.

I have accumulated it gradually, the yoga mat was for class, got the blocks with my peloton referral code. The treadmill we found for $100 on the marketplace. Barbell and plates I scored for FREE on the marketplace from a neighbor and the dumbbells I buy as I randomly see them on sale.

Peloton was the big investment but I ride it ALL the time so 100% worth it for me.

5-35lbs dumbbells, bench, TRX, 15 and 40lbs kettlebells, pull-up bar, resistance bands, concept2 rower, exercise bike.

Treadmill, rowing machine, bicycle trainer, weight bench and rack, yoga mat/block/strap, assorted dumbells, TV and some videos.

All accumulated over the years and getting varying use over those years.

To a PP who thinks cardio in a house is bizarre...huh? I love being able to run/bike/row no matter the weather or time of day. It's such a luxury to be able to do it whenever as a working mom especially now with ES kids at home 24/7.

Why? I love having both strength and cardio so I don’t have to go to a gym. I do most of my cardio outdoors but it’s nice to have options in bad weather (like today). I’m the PP with treadmill, spin bike, dumbbells, bench, bands, mat, blocks, Peloton app.

We have an indoor stationary bike we use with the Peleton app; yoga mat and yoga blocks; all sorts of dumbbells; ab workout device; punching bag for husband’s boxing; resistance bands and all kinds of workout DVDs which we converted.

Peloton, barbell set, dumbbells, kettle bells, medicine ball, TRX, a Redbox deck, and a Concept 2 rower.

Peloton and BodyPump weights/barbell/step. A mat, yoga bocks, and a large mirror to check my form.

Not part of the question, but I currently subscribe to both Peloton and Les Mills on demand. It’s still cheaper than my former gym membership (where I used to take BodyPump, spin classes and Pilates), and now I can do all those workouts, and then some, at home.

Why? It gets too cold outside to run outside for many people, or, like me, running is too much for my joints. Having the elliptical in the house lets me get cardio in easily. Gyms aren’t for everyone.

Spin bike, dumbells from 2-30 pounds, resistance bands, yoga mat/strap/blocks/blanket.

Running on the street leaves me a good deal of pain, I have a bad hip and knees. The spin bike lets me get in higher intensity cardio and takes up little space. I walk outside when the weather is good but I cannot get the same exercise with a fast walk as I can in a spin class.
