It is over for the Ivies. https://twitter.com/IvyLeague/status/1362463209354129408

Guessing the NESCACs will make it official soon too?

I understand that there are bigger issues, but this is just wrong. We have testing, effective therapeutics and vaccines plural. Not to mention these are the healthiest of the healthy. This is just wrong and I hope all the kids ditch for other schools and follow the likes of Sowers out the door.

He graduated, tho. Worth staying put for the ivy league degree for the others.

This is gross.

Why are they doing it? I cannot understand the underlying motivation. There is always a reason other than the obvious. There is just no reason not to play at this point.

Uhm . . . because I don't want my kid exposed to heightened risk of contracting a serious illness for the sake of a game. And, BTW, they had lots of fun just practicing last fall.

There's no way any real athlete was happy about that.

So it's ok for your kid to be exposed to a heightened risk of contracting a serious illness during practice, but not in an actual competition....makes perfect sense.

Ivy League was correct last spring and, as always, they were too impressed with themselves.

Ivy League is failing miserably with this decision. And the inability to make a timely decision screwed a number of their athletes for no good reason.

Combined with all of the woke nonsense that dominates everything about an Ivy education now, and this may be their jump the shark moment.

Without lax, would your DC have gotten into that Ivy? See it as what it is - a fun competitive sport that has no practical application in the real world - and have them focus on their classes.

Sorry. You don't get to compare rowing to real team sports. Nice try, though.

This is just not a factual statement. There is no data to suggest they are at a heightened risk playing sports outside.

The lack of leadership is staggering. What a bunch of fools. Couldn't lead themselves out of the bathroom. The ego's are just outrageous.
