stationary bike - peleton too expensive

Anonymous
I’d like to get a stationary bike for the basement, but peletons are too rich for my blood.

Can you recommend your cheaper alternative? I’d like it to have a large screen like peleton or for me to be able to mount my ipad to simulate a large screen. I’d also like to be able to use it with the peleton app opposed to being limited to its own subscription service.

Thanks for any suggestions.

I have Sunny 1805. Has a stand for my iPad. I use the Peloton app on the iPad. It works well.

I bought a non peloton after joining the Peloton Digital App group on FB and watching videos on YouTube (Tailhappy).

I ended up with an Echelon Connect from Walmart; it’s $500 but I got it in store for clearance at $200.

It has a mount for an iPad but I use the app on my Firestick so I’m watching the class on a large screen. There’s also an Echelon group on FB (called Pechelon) and they have fantastic advice.

I’m happy with my bike and love the Peloton classes!

Schwinn ic3 from dicks - $600. Join their email marketing, get 10% off. I think I ended up paying about $550.

I have a cheaper Sunny model. They are really well made for the price. I was pleasantly surprised! My husband bought me a peloton for quarantine. Honestly, the Sunny bike is an excellent low cost alternative!

My husband wanted a peloton but also too expensive for us, he talked to a sports PT who recommended some kind of alternative device were you mount your own bike on a stand that has the screen and programs. I forget what it’s called but it means you have a high-quality bike and just have to set up the connection to the program.

I’ve been happy with the Schwinn iC4. It was $800.

+1 for Schwinn IC4. Works great with the peloton app. It also comes with an arm band heart rate monitor that works great and can be paired with the peloton app. I got mine from Dicks roadside pickup and I used their 20% off first time customer coupon.

We have the Nordictrak Grand Tour - it was $1000 and purchased it because it is very quite and we exercise early or late or when someone is working ....

Thought it was a good compromise on price and features

I just got a Bowflex C6 (which I understand is the same as the Schwinn IC4). If you are on facebook, there's a group that uses the Peloton app and is always discussing alternate bikes and the pros and cons.

Also, if you’re a Dick’s member, you can pick one day a year to get double points on your purchases. So if you do that when buying the bike, you’ll get a pretty decent reward from it. We were going to buy the Schwinn on Black Friday, but DH decided to get the less expensive bike at Costco instead.

+1 on the Bowflex C6. Nice, sturdy and quiet bike.

I have the 510ic Indoor Cycle Magnetic Trainer- came highly recommended on Consumer Reports. I’ve been doing the Peloton Digital App with this bike and really satisfied. Check out the Peloton Digital App User Facebook group for how to Peloton without the Peloton.

Oops- it’s a Diamondback. That’s the model.

Thanks to all from Op - lots of good choices.

One different question - is there a way via the peleton or other app to do a bike workout “with” a friend from our respective homes.
