stationary bike - peleton too expensive

One different question - is there a way via the peleton or other app to do a bike workout “with” a friend from our respective homes.

Peloton has a lot of live classes you could do together, I don't think there is a way to link up to each other through the app though. Maybe look into Zwift.

One also has fitness classes you can do with friends on their platform.. no cycling but great option for other types of fitness classes streaming live.

I have a bike trainer that I put my normal road bike on. I have a little mount for my iPad so I can watch crap tv while I ride. You can get a trainer fairly cheap.

Also, if you’re a Dick’s member, you can pick one day a year to get double points on your purchases. So if you do that when buying the bike, you’ll get a pretty decent reward from it. We were going to buy the Schwinn on Black Friday, but DH decided to get the less expensive bike at Costco instead.

How do you like it ? I saw it a few weeks ago at Costco. I got the schwin ic3 in September and it’s been great!

We just got a Schwinn IC4. Love it. Half the price of a Peloton.

We have the Echelon Ex-4s from Costco. You can do the Peleton app with it. There’s a Facebook group for those using the Peleton with this bike. It’s called Pechelon. If you don’t want to use the Peleton app, the Echelon has live and on-demand studio classes too.

I like my Exerpeutic Folding Magnetic Upright Exercise Bike with Pulse. Was less than $300, folds up and has decent resistance. I imagine one day I may want something more high tech but 8 months in that's not been a problem.

Can you see cadence/resistance/output numbers on whatever screen you are using for the Echelon (or any of the non-Peloton bike setups)? I’ve used my sister’s Peloton and love that you can see those numbers while you are working out and in your workout history.

I have an Echelon Sport. I like my set up - I stream the Peloton class from my Firestick and use my phone to use an app to see my cadence, resistance, and mileage. You can also track heart rate via a monitor. The app is called qdomyoszwift and it’s $4 on the App Store.

Thank you! There are so many options out there. It’s a bit overwhelming.

Can you recommend a good iPad mount for this?
