The real life fairytale with all perfect ingredients...
It is pretty magical view into their personal life through their interior decor and their personal items..
How two people who had "all the means necessary" lived their daily lives. What they choose to decorate.

There’s no kitchen on the floor plan.

Yes, they were indeed. That does not change the fact that they lived the fairytale life and it is not a politics forum, it is home
decor forum. Just as the fashion and decor is not discussed there.

Maybe that was to help her keep thin? She is famous for surviving on a whisky and an egg a day and you don't need a kitchen
to cook an egg. He might have stuff delivered.

I don't think it's much of a fairytale. They fell in love and got married and turned out to be miserable. The OP brought yup their supposedly perfect fairytale life, and no substantive comments about their decor.

AND THAT is what a fairytale ingredients are.. you start with princess.. king.. duchess.. what have you, throw in love, and then complicate the story and end in misery. Why some people confuse fairytale with happiness?
But their decor represents certain lifestyle of the era.

:

Ingredients for a Fairy Tale
A land far far away.

A charming prince.
A sarcastic sidekick
A frightful villain.
A seemingly impossible set of circumstances to overcome.

In addition, a fairy tale will often include:

Royal characters such as kings and princesses.
Talking animals.
Magical elements such as magic beans, fairy dust, enchanted castle.

It's more than a bit knick-knacky, isn't it?

And she has portraits of herself in the library and sitting room? That's a specific sort of decorating choice.

I didn’t know they ended up disliking each other. Is that really true? How do we know?

What about their life was a fairytale other than the fact that they were very rich and lived in a fancy house? Seems kind of sad and devoid of intimacy (no close family, no children) to me.

And.. back to décor. ....

I suppose it's pretty enough, but nothing especially charming or compelling.

Hard to see past the Nazi thing, though.

I assume the kitchen was in the basement and not part of the living quarters at all.
