The GOP has let their leadership go off the rails. I have a lot of respect for some of them from the past. They are probably spinning in their graves right now with the way Trump and Vance talk and act. It's time to call this unAmerican behavior out. That is the weird everyone is talking about. Sub in bizzare if it makes you feel better. But maybe you should go back to your corner and put your lady gloves back on if "weird" bothers you so much. It's time to take out the wasp nest and you don't show up with Glade air freshener. |
![]() I have the feeling YOU haven’t “normalized” any of this. Sorry but is it possible that you’re just having a meltdown because people are tired of your brand of “normal” being shoved down their throats? Just something to think about. |
Methinks the lady doth protest too much. If it's really not a big deal, then ignore it. Trump hasn't. In fact, it's clear it's getting under his skin in a way that being called an authoritarian, fascist, rapist or felon never did. |
The MAGAs wear diapers and ear bandages in solidarity with their dear leader. It's weird to support such a "cult of personality". Democrats don't do that. In fact, we try to hold our leaders accountable. FWIW, you know nothing about what I support. |
I don’t think you’re getting it. The “weird” thing (or call it “bizarre” if you want) maybe would have worked to sink a campaign somewhere back in the early 2000s, but since then, everything (and I do mean everything) once considered “weird” or “bizarre” has been embraced as compleeetely fine and even celebrated and pushed on society as such—-by the left. Weird is now normal. By design. Of the left. And that’s fine bc it’s 2024 now, and the mainstream socially-acceptable view of the majority (which is very different from the 1980s/90s/early-2000s “make fun of everyone in a hilarious takedown” culture) is that it is not funny or acceptable to poke fun at people for being weird or bizarre or different. We (as a society) have determined (mostly as dictated by the left) that we don’t use weird or bizarre as an insult. Oh—except apparently when it’s convenient for liberals to world this as a tool to bludgeon conservatives. Then it’s fine. But don’t you dare call it weird to have a dude who dresses like a woman as assistant secretary for health. And heaven forbid you say it’s weird for President Biden not to acknowledge one of his grandkids for 7 years because she’s the illegitimate child that his kid had with a stripper. Nope. Those are totally “normal” things. Not bizarre at all. |

NP, but this is an irrational pet peeve for me, so here’s a PSA for future: The correct quote is “The lady doth protest too much, methinks.” You’re welcome. |
Here let me help you out. While the bolded is not a behavior the majority of people would do, the weird part is people who harp over that rather than actually talking about policies. MAGA spent years complaining about woke culture and lost the thread that they're fighting these culture wars against themselves |
It’s been over 15 days since she gave an interview to anyone. There’s a good reason for this. They are hoping to keep the 2020 basement strategy alive with Harris. As long as she isn’t speaking, they can sell the idea that she knows what she’s doing. |
Thanks for the help. You’re a helpful individual. Now please help your party understand that if behavior that is “not a behavior of the majority” is not the definition of weird (or outside of the norm)—then nothing can really be defined as “weird.” |
Yeah, I’m going to keep othering pedophiles and people who think democracy is bad. |
It’s weird to watch liberals try ti make being weird a bad thing.
They don’t believe that being “weird” is bad. . They just think Trump/Vance are bad. But since liberals believe that conservatives or independents think being “weird” is bad, liberals are pretending they do too so that they can convince voters to vote for their guy. But their entire platform is based on normalizing whatever “weird” is next. So it’s weird that they are now trying to be the party of normal. . |
Might need to start with your own party on the first one. And in an actual democracy, the nominee would have actually won a primary or two, rather than inheriting the party’s nomination from her predecessor with dementia. What’s “weird” is when the ones trying to save democracy are also the ones who find a way around it to crown their next President rather than have the voters decide……because they know that she never would have won the nomination if it had been up to the people. |
Weird is definitely the right word for the current right wing/MAGA. Relatives moved to a very red part of central FL during the pandemic, at the height of DeSantis’ popularity. A lot of their neighbors moved there during that time as well. The people there are indeed very weird. Super religious in a performative way (think yard signs about Jesus), think public schools are evil, very obsessed with the trans stuff, into the whole trad wife thing and having as many kids as possible, post conspiracy theories constantly on Facebook, and definitely racist (specifically sought out an area that is very white, and talk about avoiding the northern end of town where the black people live). You can’t have like a normal conversation with these people. I think a lot of them moved there because they couldn’t handle being around people with different beliefs and lifestyles, and they heard this part of FL was like a little enclave for them. They all kind of look the same too. A lot like that photo of the two women someone posted upthread, minus the money. |
Sorry MAGA, we hurt your feelings |
