It’s also the description that’s going to get under Trump’s skin far more than any of these other descriptors you mentioned. |
They are weird. Period.
One guy is an orange wanna be dictator who hangs out with guys like Putin and Kim jong un. The other guy talks about cats, childless ladies, racism as it relates to diet Mountain Dew, etc… Sorry but that’s freakin weird. |
But it’s also a great description of the arguments you do get into with your uncle at Thanksgiving that you do dislike so much. Like imagine if it was just a normal republican running and we could just have arguments about whether the federal govt really plays $800 instead of what point your uncle was trying to prove when he went into the women’s room at Target shouting about transsexuals and classrooms full of kitty litter. |
Yeah. It's resonating with the "kids" -- college aged. They see Trump and Vance as weird. |
The description started with Gen Z. It took a few days circulating around 100,000 young people for the Gen X media to pick up on it. Once it was reported by the media, it then became a democratic talking point. Same thing happened to the description of brat. Once Gen X pundits learned it meant cool they started using it. Gen Z had already been using it,
The weird and creepy thing is resonating because it names something everyone is thinking. Even Trump supporters are caught off guard by the weirdness of those two wondering what the hell is he talking about and why? |
Noted. |
I really wish the democratic talking points would focus on the policy aspects of Project 2025.
1. Kicking 30% of people on Medicaid off. 1 in 3, it will either be you or someone you know. 2. Raising income taxes by 3%-8% on people making 12 K -200 K while cutting corporate taxes and capital gains for high earners. 3. National abortion ban, contraceptives ban and IVF ban. There are plenty of other despicable things in 2025 but those three will ruin peoples lives in red and blue states. |
Let's not forget that Vance got picked because Donnie and Eric pitched a fit. And they are definitely weird.
|
I think it started when Kamala described Vance as weird and people latched on that it was the perfect description. Vance is weird. There isn’t much disagreement on that one from either Republicans or Dems. The only people who don’t think he’s weird are the weird dudes. |
1000% |
I mean…they’re both absolutely weird. Is that even in question?
Weird can be good, Bernie Sanders inauguration mittens, for example, is a great kind of wholesome weirdness. Or weird can be…some guy who people credibly think should be kept away from upholstered furniture. No one made the Republicans choose the latter. |
