You want to live in fantasy land. There will be no victory by a third party candidate. You can't even name a single state that would choose a third party candidate. Get ready for a trump term or a Biden term. or live in la la land if you prefer. |
I think you all are making this out to be more complex than it is. Trump and Biden rely on each other to maintain their existence as probable 2024 nominees. The only candidate they have a chance of beating is each other. If Biden backs out and is replaced by a quality candidate, the RNC and Trump supporters would have to move on to another candidate because we all know Trump would stand no chance against a quality opponent. Same goes for the DNC and Democrats if Trump were to back out. Biden at least has a chance against Trump but wouldn't against a quality candidate. This ridiculous little game of cat and mouse the parties are playing is a dangerous game. We need a competent president going forward. |
While that may be true, ultimately barring death, people will have three choices: Biden, Trump or third party, which = Trump. |
Patently false. The poll published in the NY Times was total BS and after review, has been widely criticized. Almost all of the other polls show Biden with a slight lead, which is consistent with broader sentiment. |
The voters choose the candidates. Focus your energy on how to get a better outcome from the primary. A third party candidate does not win. They just help trump win. |
And yet, those will be the options. Yes polling shows that people think Trump is insane and Biden is too old. Yes, both parties should elect someone else during their primaries. Guess what, Trump has the GOP nomination sewn up and Biden is the incumbent president. They will both get their party nominations. Since a third party is not viable, those are your choices. If you choose Trump, so be it. If you choose someone other then Biden you are choosing Trump. It is that simple. |
If this is the case we must all hope, pray, and beg for Trump or Biden to either choose to back out of the race or be forced to back out of the race for some reason. The health of our nation is in the balance. |
If Biden is reelected, how does that negatively impact the health of the nation? Even if he serves only one day, and Kamala Harris becomes president with his administration in place, things will proceed as they are now. The only thing that negatively impacts the health of the nation is if Trump wins, and unleashes his retribution on the 75% of the country that hates him. |
I live in a world where thrid-party candidates pull 2-3% in national elections, how about you? |
We must hope that this country rejects trump. This election is a copy of 2020. We rejected trump then and we will do it again. |
Only if they would have otherwise voted for Biden. I don’t think we can assume that. You really think Cornel West voters would vote for Biden? Not a chance. These are people who vote for 3rd party candidates *because* they are guaranteed to lose. They want to act holier than thou—like they are above it all and better than everyone else. |
A vote effects the outcome. Cornel west voters know that trump or Biden will win the election. If they see no difference between those two options they have a screw loose. |
x1000000 Say it with me: Nader, Nader, Sanders/Stein. A third party candidate will not win. No matter how much Republicans want to shill for them, no matter how much the holier than thou think a third party vote sends a *mysterious* message, a third party candidate is a waste of a vote and can negatively affect the outcome. But No Labels, with their squishy-squashy forced birther beliefs? They’re working hard to get Trump back in. |
"If Biden is reelected". The "if" is the problem. We need certainties with a candidate that can keep Trump out of office. Biden gives us uncertainty. It wouldn't be difficult to find a candidate that would give us certainty of a victory over someone as awful as Trump. |
If you think Trump and Biden are worthy of presidential nominations in 2024, yes, I am indeed holier and a lot wiser than you. |
