VHSL Fall Sports Decision - Feb start still a go?

Are we still waiting for a final decision from VHSL regarding the Fall Sports season starting in Feb? Are they planning to update what sports will be played? Or are we just waiting to hear from the high schools what their plans are? My kid plays a fall sport and it sounded like from the coach the HS AD’s/Coaches are meeting within the next week to come up with a plan.

depends on where you are I think. I'm a fall coach in APS waiting to hear if we will have a season or not. I THINK they might be announcing at the next board meeting, but they also told us that before the last board meeting so who knows

I heard this too. I think all the schools are meeting later this week to discuss plans and see if it’s viable.

Fall sports are all outdoor, right? It seems like if they can do wrestling and masked basketball, they can do outdoor sports??

I thought VHSL made the decision for the whole year and isn’t taking it by season. If we made it through the indoor winter sports why can’t the fall sports happen? And In FCPS they finally gave the green light on other non sport activities.

As long as soccer remains untouched were all good. They were robbed already last year. And wrestling is happening now. Karens and Chads go hibernate until June

Basketball and wrestling are as high risk as it gets. It is frankly insane they were allowed to play. But since that decision was made there would be 0 reason to ban anyone else.

I agree with this, and my kids are playing basketball. I was surprised they approved it, too, but the low risk was worth it to us. No kids on their teams have been sick. There is no way to justify cancelling anything else after they had (masked) basketball and (unmasked) wrestling. I mean, come on.

All the spring sports were canceled last year, not just soccer.
