Where to shop for very slim, petite 13yo girl?

I’m having a really hard time finding clothes that fit my 13yo dd. In the past, most of her basics came from Gap and Old Navy, but she’s at the point where the kids sizes are just not fitting or are too childish! Size 12 fits width wise, but pants and shirts are too short. Size 14 fits in length, but waists, etc. are too wide. She’s 5’2” and weighs 70lbs. I’m wondering if I should try adult petites? But then the styles are too boring and “adult” for her. I’d love to just take her to the mall and have her try on a bunch of stuff, but because of the pandemic, I’m only ordering online. Any online places I should check out that have a decent return policy? Pajamas, in particular are impossible. What does your young teen wear to bed? She’s be fine with some pj bottoms and a t-shirt. It’s finding pj bottoms that fit her that is the problem!

That’s what I was thinking, but from looking at their website, dd is not very impressed with the clothes. Maybe basics like tshirts and jeans, but their petit selection is pretty limited.

american eagle has xxs and size 00 that work for my very tiny 13 yo. for pjs, we still buy youth XL and can buy fleece pj shorts and pants at places like kohls & target. You can also get "teen" bras and bralettes at target online. they are all just a little more narrow. she will need to flip flop between teen and kid departments for a while.

Thanks, will look at those!

Old Navy skinny jeans with adjustable waist don’t work for her? That’s what my same size DD wears. For leggings she wears women’s XS or XXS. Tops are a mix of youth and adult, depending how they are cut. She’ll never wear youth 16 though. Women’s sizes are smaller than that.

What about Target skinny or super skinny jeans (teen/women’s section)?

The adjustable waist sometimes works. Often they have to be cinched up so much that the waistband is bunchy, which she hates. I’ve found women’s xs and xxs leggings that will work, though her legs are so thin that sometimes the leggings are loose on her, which she hates. *sigh* part of the trouble is her own self criticism *sigh* 13 year olds... I’m just trying to find options beyond what we’ve already been trying.

Op again. I think she’s also having some anxiety about going back to in person school, hence the clothing crisis. It wouldn’t be such a big deal if she continued to stay home.

Aeropostale clothes are cut pretty slim. They have size 000. My young teen wears an XS shirt, but found Areopostale XS too small. It's similar in width to a child's 8-10 but a much longer length. Unfortunately their dressing room isn't open so you'll need to order and return.

H&M has a sort of in-between section, with trendy stuff sized larger than girls' sizes but not quite juniors. Not every store has the same selection, though, so you might need to check a couple of them to find one with enough to choose from.

Agree these are your best bet. Lots of sizing options.

H&M super skinny is the only thing that fits my petite DD. Other stores that advertise super skinny are still too loose for her.
