Crate and Barrel - which sofa

Anonymous
Inspired by the Room and Board thread...I'm trying to decide between Axis II, Lounge petite, and Gather petite - does anyone have experiences with any of these? Are the stock "stain resistant" fabrics really stain resistant? I'm going in person today and will hopefully get swatches then.

*there's no room and board where I live, and neither my husband nor I want to buy sight unseen, regardless of how many great reviews they get.

Presumably someone who has the sofa already knows what it looks like

We have both the Axis and the Gather, both of which are great couches. Although the dimensions are similar, they feel totally different when you sit in them. We did not care for the Lounge at all. You really need to sit in them to figure out which will work best. Some of the stock fabrics are great - we have the "microfiber/microsuede" type and it is super durable and stain resistant.

I have two of the Lounge sofas (not petite) and love them. Good experiences with the fabric (but I have the charcoal color so hard to see stains if they are there!)

I have the Axis II - have had it for almost 8 years and it's in great shape - fabric is durable and stain resistant and the sofa is very comfy.

Not going to get a lot of feedback without links. I suppose OP could be asking people who own these sofas, that’s true.

OP here - yes, happy to see that a few people who own the sofas have provided feedback. I don't need opinions on aesthetics, just comfort and durability.

I'll go sit on it in person for sure, but I'm curious about your experience with the Gather cushions - are they firm or soft? The reviews are a little all over the place, some say firm, some say too cushy, LOL! This is the one I'm leaning towards because I love the lines. We'd be getting the lighter fabric because everything else in our room is darker. I think I read their lighter stock fabric is very durable (Monet)

One is 10 years old, the other is 5. With two kids they've held up well and are so comfy.

Also have them in dark colors but the microfiber fabric is excellent for repelling stains and cleaning up easily.

Which one you would suggest? Which one is better?

We have the lounge in a woven fabric (not microfiber) and it has held up well for a decade. DH was against a new couch when we bought the lounge originally but quickly became a convert.
It’s our TV watching couch, so we love how deep it is for getting cozy- but if you want a more formal vibe it may not be the right fit.

We have the lounge and it has help up pretty well-with two kids and a dog. Its not the microfiber or performance but we are happy to be able to remove the covers and throw in the washer.

Love my axis 2. It’s held up beautifully. Very comfortable. I would recommend it.
