Do most kids have perfect Attendance this year?
My DD was sick but since it’s online school she had no reason not to show up. .. |
No. My DS overslept, missed the first period a few times; took a nap at lunch, and missed the next period on another day. Was marked absent in error twice. I can't even deal with trying to correct it. |
My DC got covid and was too sick to go, even online. |
Perfect attendance? I have some students who have missed at least 2-3 days a week. I have another student who logged in the first week and then decided it was too boring (he told his mom this). He occasionally does asynch work which means I have to mark him present. |
Grandfather died from Covid. It’s an excused absence, but that still counts against perfect attendance. |
both of my kids have perfect attendance. but they are dorks. |
My daughter had to see her neurologist. Chronic conditions continue through COVID sadly. |
Well almost. They have been healthy and are pretty good about logging in on time. Though sometimes they have been marked absent by mistake. I don't bother about getting it corrected.
They have also gone for medical appointments but have not been marked absent for those. They were pretty great about turning in their assignments in time but the second quarter has been tough. Hard to be motivated now with the continuation of the pandemic. |
My HS kid hasn’t missed any classes. My MS kid has missed some, but never a full day. It’s a class here and there for medical appointments and a couple of times I signed her out of PE and/or advisory just for a break, since neither of those classes do anything useful. |
My kid overslept once and got detention. That's it. |
After school zoom detention? |
In-person detention. He goes to school twice a week. |
Op here our school only count as all day absence as an absence, if they are mark absent for a class it doesn’t they don’t have perfect attendance . |
My kids go to different schools (APS) and have different calendars, and twice when one had an asynchronous day or no school, the other did not, but I assumed they both had the day off and gave them bad information that cause them to miss school.
They were pissed. Luckily it has happened to each child only once so it wasn’t a huge screw up and they were equally impacted by my error. |
My kid had emergency surgery and recovery, so no perfect attendance. Far too sick for school. |
