Ward 3 has secret COVID vaccine sites for Ward 3 Only! Not on the DC register!

It turns out that the Mayor and DC Health have set aside secret COVID vaccination points in Ward 3 which you can only get access to if you live there and they do not need to use the city's awful registration tool!

I have written to Mary Cheh with regard to the lack of testing sites in ward 3. To my knowledge there is one. The Safeway on Connecticut Ave near Chevy Chase Circle. This is problematic for many of us who are not mobile but qualify for the vaccine. Today I received a reply from her office in which I was told that there were 3 vaccine sites in Ward Three, but they were secret as DV did not want people showing up unannounced for vaccines. My question to the neighborhood is has anyone seen any other sites in Ward 3? I know Sibley has some for patients, but they are not an option on the DC site and are not open to everyone.
I am anxious for real information about this.

Mary Cheh's Chief of Staff mentioned the "secret" Ward 3 COVID vaccination points last week in an ANC meeting. I got the feeling that it was not so much that they were a secret, but the city was making information up to throw Ward 3 seniors off the scent. I mean there is really no way you could justify an entire Ward only have one vaccination point, so why not tell them that they had other "secret" inoculation points?

Look at the end of the day the last thing that you want to do is to mobilize a group of Ward 3 seniors. Too much education and time on their hands.

Probably designed to keep brown people out of the Ward. Don't want them lining up in Ward 3 CVS's.

Seriously, how stupid are these people? The vaccinations are given at Safeway Pharmacies, Giant Pharmacies and CVS Pharmacies. I am sure that Ward 3 has plenty.

Stay west of the river. Thank you.

And it has begun. This is what happens when the Mayor pits zip code against zip code. All any resident of this city "wants" is transparency around vaccines. Ward 3 residents have had ZERO control over what they've "gotten". Take a breath,

Wtf? Is this real or from The Onion?

Say what you will about Mary Cheh, she is an a$$, but she would never use the words "secret" or authorize her staff to, unless trying to throw dirt on a conservative viewpoint.

So I am not buying it.

Where is this from? I’m also skeptical that Cheh would facilitate this.

As it was explained to me, DC Health does not want to publicize these sites as they are concerned citizens will just show up at the sites demanding vaccines. You cannot make this stuff up. Are people running into the Chevy Chase Safeway and demanding vaccines? At this point, several people have responded to the group and several: more privately to me. So far I have not heard of anyone receiving a vaccination in Ward 3 anywhere but the Chevy Chase Safeway. Sibley is offering vaccines randomly to their patients. They are not part of the DC vaccinate portal. Some people writing to me have expressed great interest in a Ward 3 site, they have not been successful. I am at a loss to where they might be and would really appreciate any information on these secret sites.

So who is supposed to have written this?

That's the gods honest truth.

This sounds fake.

So where are the Ward 3 vaccination points? There is only one on the DC registration tool. The Connecticut Ave Safeway just inside of Western. Where are the others for a Ward with the largest number of Seniors of any Ward?

I live in va and knew aboit Sibley because I’ve been a patient there. You have to be a dc resident though. If you’ve been a patient, sign up through the portal.

The Sibley vaccine program is not a Ward 3 'secret' site. It is a program available for all Sibley patients. Patients are notified by their doctors and are falling within the DC phased guidelines. Their patients are being pulled from across the region. There have even been Maryland patients pulled in. I am not sure if that was intended or the patient had registered as a Sibley patient back when they lived in the city. Who knows.

George Washington hospital has a similar program where they are reaching out to high risk patients.

The whole secret site thing is DC crazy. I am surprised that Mary Cheh or even the Mayor tolerate that kind of language being used. It just creates the perception of haves and have nots.
