Club Rankings/VA Metro?

| Looking at US club rankings for girls, I’m curious where/why Metro isn’t listed in the top 100. I can’t see them for any year. We live in the Vienna area and have heard great things, but is the Metro team not comparable to Pride team or Cardinal? How are these rankings done? |

| No, VA Metro is not a top club. Rankings are based on strength of schedule (bracket team plays in) wins and losses. VA Metro doesn’t not play in top bracket - the bracket that Cardinal, Pride and Stars/Capital play in. |

The US Club Lacrosse poll you reference is shaky at best. This poll relies on teams entering their own data and doing so accurately. VA Metro is not included because it appears they did not enter game results. Those familiar with the older VA Metro teams will certainly vouch for them being solid teams deserving of a ranking. Where is hard to say, but the simple fact they are not ranked kills this polls credibility. Do not put too much stock in this particular poll. A deep dive into the numbers will leave you with more than a few head-scratching moments. |

| You are incorrect. The site uses Tourney machine and does not count play dates and scrimmages. If your team plays aloha tournaments do not expect to be ranked. It is not perfect but it is the best ranking out there. Does VA Metro beat teams like Cardinal, Pride, Capital, and common opponents? Losing by three to M&D will and should create a higher ranking than winning an Aloha event |

Being "strong" in the area isn't enough to get ranked. Regardless of the validity of the rankings, In order to even be in the conversation you have to be consistently playing and competing with the top MD teams in tournaments. |

US Club rankings have defunct teams and pulled together teams for the HoCo fall leagues. That site is a crock.
Metro's 23 black team is their best team and used to play better opponents but don't really anymore. The rest of the club is middle of the road. |

| Troll or not it certainly brings into question the rankings. Looking at Cardinal 2022 they did not beat a single team in the Top 40. How are they ranked 13th? These rankings don't seem accurate or credible. |

All of cardinal 2024 went to metro. So they can’t be all bad. |

| Cardinal 24 was a strong team. When their best 4 players went to M&D or Capital Blue the rest of the team left for lack of support from the club. |

And the 23 black team is only strong because of the players they got from Cardinal. |

| I know the 4 girls that went to top clubs, couldn't name anyone else. The real test will be what tourneys & brackets Metro plays in and how they consistently fair against the best competition. |
