Club Rankings/VA Metro?

It does look like some of their wins/losses are mixed in with some other team named “Metro.”

The US Club rankings make little sense. My DDs team lost twice to another team who, according to these rankings, has a better record than my DDs team, but is ranked lower. I would say based on the merit of beating better teams maybe my DDs team should be ranked higher, but the reality is my DDs team didn't beat any teams ranked in the top 20. Some of the teams they beat are not even listed in the top 100. The rankings are interesting to review, but do not seem to be based on actual results.

I know a couple of the Metro teams have beat Pride teams, at times, at very least they should be listed above the Pride B teams.

Metro is not a top club in Nova. Stars and Pride are the top 2 teams and Metro rarely beats those 2 programs. Most good players play a year or 2 for Metro then move on to Pride or Stars or Capital for HS.

DD plays for Pride and I can’t think of one player that played for Metro. Seems like a different pool of kids. Also, the OP was about the rankings not getting into another conversation about Pride.

Agreed. They are ok and better than some other clubs in the area. But Stars and Pride are the leaders.

The “B” Pride teams are a mess. AVOID.

I believe it is far less about head to head results than it would be about tournaments played in, the competition therein, etc. So if the tournament play were equal then yes H2H would adjust.

But I'm also not sure how much legit math is involved.

As a data person I was just curious. The list has A and B teams and I have to think that any Metro A team could beat some B teams that are listed.

Yes, other than maybe the top 3 MD programs' B teams, the rest of the B teams out there wouldn't beat any of the top 25 A teams.
