We still need to be able to punish bad apples amongst the police forces, and get police officers off their news diet of lies from Fox and other rightwing sources.

Loved listening to his story as well as that of the another MPD officer, Michael Fanone, who had some of his gear stripped from him. He thought he was about to be killed when he started yelling,”I have kids!” Some in the crowd moved in to help by shielding him from others. When asked what he would say to those who assisted him, he responded “Thank you and why the f*ck are you here?”

This can never be allowed to happen again.

Maybe we should invest more in education so people understand lies when they hear them, rather than censor the media. I don’t want to live in a country where a bunch of hateful left-wingers get to decide who is allowed to speak.

Our priest gave his homily on the seamless garment. He encouraged us to pray for the police who were fighting to protect democracy, but reminded us that police habituated to engaging in racist practices against communities of color helped embolden many of the insurrectionists.

That would be good. But Republicans want to cut education too, in part so their deceptive media can better persuade low-educated people.
The biggest predictor of Trump voting is low education level. Remember when Trump said “I love the low-educated?”


Anyway, it’s not going to help stop the next white nationalist insurrection in the next few months.

You saw how the female Air Force person thought she was a patriot while she was doing the bidding of anti-American forces right?

Sorry, but the police crushed nothing that day. I’m forever grateful that there were good eggs willing to fight among law enforcement, but overall it was a pathetic show of failure. This officer was failed.

They crushed nothing? So the insurrectionists weren’t pushed out?

Yes, there were some who were complicit, but let’s not be delusional about what 98% of the officers there did.
